TIRUMALA : In yet another incident of propaganda of other religions on Tirumala Hills, the TTD vigilance staff on Wednesday detained a contract employee working at a Prasadam distribution counter for holding a book of other faith in his bag.

Acting on a tip-off, the vigilance staff checked the bag of Ravindra Naik, a native of Gorantla town in Anantapur district, who is working as an outsourcing employee at the Laddu counter being administered by State Bank Of Hyderabad (SBH) and took him into custody after tracing a book of other religion in his bag.

There is a ban on propagation of other religions on Tirumala Hills.

During a preliminary inquiry, the youth told the vigilance staff that he had got the book from members of a missionary during his journey on a train a fortnight ago and kept it in his bag.

Not satisfied with the explanation, the officials grilled him why he carried to Tirumala and kept it at the Laddu counter.
