Govt. will divert temple money towards Muslims and Christians!

May 18, 2007

Pune: Shri. Vyankatesh Abdev, the regional chief of VHP said in a press conference that the proposed act for taking over temples will help the Government to divert funds collected in Hindu temples for benefit of Muslims and Christians. The Govt. has excluded Muslims and Christians worship places from the purview of the said Act.

He said the Govt. will have to face outburst of Hindu feelings if the Act is passed. He declared that a committee has been formed by VHP against taking over of temples and mutts. VHP also declared further course of action against the proposed Act. Under the committee's scheme, members will be admitted till 20th June. On 21st and 22nd July, conferences of trustees and devotees will be held at district levels. The outline of agitations was also announced which include submitting representations to the district collectors, demonstrations and representations to MLAs and the Governor. If in spite of such opposition, the Government does not annul the Act, a rally will be taken to the Legislative Assembly in October.
