Dwarka peeth Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati on Saturday saw a conspiracy in “love jihad” against Hindus and called upon the youth and GenNext to guard against the “evil plan”.

Addressing a religious conclave in Mahasamund, nearly 170 km from here, the seer said there was a conscious move by a section to divide the Hindus and “love jihad” was a part of the design.

“The youth and the next generation should guard themselves from falling into the trap,” he added. Lamenting gradual erosion of the Indian culture due to foreign influence, the Shankaracharya observed that this has posed a threat not only to the Indian culture but also the unity of the country. In an apparent bid to clear confusion among Hindus on choosing Gods and Goddesses to pay obeisance, the religious guru said only the deities in which life is instituted by performing rituals assigned under Hindu scriptures, should be worshipped by them. “Our culture should not be allowed to be tampered with,” he noted.

He also exhorted the Hindus to fight for building of the Ram temple at Ayodhya without taking support from any political parties.
