C.P.R. centre, Chennai ties up with Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies

Chennai : The Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies (OCHS), a recognised independent centre of Oxford University, established for the study of Hindu religion, culture, society, philosophies and languages, and the Chennai-based C. P. Ramaswami Aiyar Institute of Indological Research (CPRIIR), have entered into a partnership for collaborative research.

Initiatives to enhance the field of Hindu studies and cultural heritage will get a boost under the partnership. An institute of the C.P. Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation, the CPRIIR was established to research Indian history, religion and culture and in promoting India’s cultural heritage through education, research and publications.

A press release from Nandhita Krishna, Director, CPRIIR here said the tie-up would open up exchanges between the respective faculty and students. Specific projects will be selected by the two institutes to carry out research and other collaborative activities, besides assisting faculty and students travelling from one country to another for research purposes.

The partnership will also initiate joint research projects in various aspects of Hindu Studies, organise joint conferences and other collaborative activities on Hindu Studies.
