BJP leader shot dead by 2 assailants in UP’s Muzaffarnagar district

New Delhi : Days after the killing of BJP leader Vijay Pandit in Dadri, another UP BJP leader was killed in the state on Tuesday.

President of Meerpur city unit in Muzaffarnagar has been shot dead by two assailants, according to Times Now.

BJP leader Omveer was shot dead by the assailants who were on a bike.
The killing comes on a day when Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav is meeting top officials over the deteriorating law and order in the state.

Akhilesh has called a meeting of all divisional commissioners, district magistrates, IGs, DIGs and district police chiefs, besides top government officials and the meeting is likely to continue till evening.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the meet, chief secretary Alok Ranjan said, the chief minister talked mainly about the law and order, and he (Akhilesh) said that "The type of work expected from the administration and police in district was not being done".
