The State Government's 15th Law Commission has proposed the 'Temple and Religious Organisations (Administration and Regulation) Act 2006', which excludes Dargahs, Masjids and Madarasas falling under the jurisdiction of the Waqf Board but exerts Government's control over the 4 lacs 50 thousand temples and religious trusts belonging to Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, Sikhs and Parsees. Similarly, under the pretext of eradicating blind faith, the State Government is attempting to eradicate faith through the 'Maharashtra Eradication of Black Magic & Evil & Dreadful (Aghori) Practices Regulation 2005' (Anti Superstition Act), which is awaiting approval of the Legislative Council.

The Shivsena will endlessly persevere in its battle against anti-Hindu laws! – Diwakar Rawte

The Shivsena intends to give a tough fight against the anti-Hindu Acts proposed by the State Government. Shivsena will endlessly persevere in its battle against the said anti-Hindu Acts, said Shivsena leader and MLA Shri. Diwakar Rawte. The Anti-Superstition Act has been appearing over the past three years only for discussion. This Act has been passed on to the Joint Scrutiny Committee. We are going to fight against it there also. This problem has not yet been solved. In fact, its immensity has increased. As of date, this Act is still one, which attacks the religious freedom of Hindus. Thus, we intend to strike at its root and destroy it. The ‘Temple Takeover Act’ has not been presented before us yet. We shall oppose that too, asserted Shri. Rawte.

Government proposing to run the State through temple funds should beg instead! – Ramdas Kadam

How did the State incur a huge debt of 1 lakh 44 thousand crores? Who siphoned this money? We know the answer very well. The Government should be asked to account for this. The Government which proposes to take charge of Hindu temples and use temple funds to run the State should take a begging bowl in its hands and move around asking for alms!

The Government has lost its moral authority to run the State, said Shivsena leader and leader of opposition Shri. Ramdas Kadam. The Anti-Superstition Act has been passed on to the Joint Scrutiny Committee. This committee comprises of Shivsena and BJP MLA’s. Thus, this battle is going to continue in the future too, he said.

Temples are the pillars of strength of Hindu Dharma – Dr. Durgesh Samant

Temples are the pillars of strength of Hindu Dharma. They are a source of divine consciousness. The importance of temples in the society is similar to that of the temple in one’s home, said HJS’ National Spokesperson Dr. Durgesh Samant.

In the context of HJS’ opposition to the proposed Temple Takeover Act of the State Government, he said, "The Andhra Pradesh Government has gained control over 33 thousand 900 temples of AP through the Temple Takeover Act. Out of these, the condition of 32 thousand temples has become extremely pathetic as of date. Temple priests are not getting their salaries. The traditional customs of the temple have nearly been stopped. The AP government has encroached over 60 thousand acres of temple land; however the same government, on the other hand, is giving 12 thousand rupees to everyJihadifor the Haj pilgrimage. It has provided a per annum quota of 1 crore and 6 crores for the upkeep of mosques and churches respectively. To prevent temples of Maharashtra from being subject to such unjust treatment, every devout Hindu should strongly protest against this Act alongwith the HJS. Institutions established by the government have become centers of corruption. The Government has started undertaking privatisation of its organisations due to adverse financial conditions; then why does it want to nationalise temples? This is a question, every sane person should think about."

Government’s ploy to destroy Hindus! – Mangalprabhat Lodha

The government that has hassled the Hindu community through various means is now devising a ploy to destroy it completely by making anti-Hindu laws, asserted BJP MLA Shri. Mangalprabhat Lodha. Temples are centers of faith and religious enculturation. The intention of the government behind the making of this act is not just eyeing temple funds, but to take charge of temples and make their condition similar to that of government offices, thereby destroying whatever little faith that Hindus possess. This is a well-devised plot of the government, said Shri. Mangalprabhat Lodha.

The one who stands against Hindus shall be thrashed! – MLA Dagdu Sakpal

Today the time has come when Hindus need to call meetings like this to create awareness amongst their brethren! Anybody stands up and speaks against Hindus! It is time to thrash such persons, said Shivsena MLA Shri. Dagdu Sakpal. He also appealed that those who speak against Hindus must prove their courage by standing in front of a mosque and speaking against Muslims.

We also have devised a ploy against the Government – K. Ravindran, Member of Kerala Temple Association

The Government proposes to take under its control 4 lacs 50 thousand temples. So, what does the temple management propose? Every temple has one priest. If he casts his vote against the government, it will lose 4 lacs 50 thousand votes. If he convinces 10 devotees to cast their votes against the government, then it will lose 45 lac votes. Likewise, there are around 30 people in the temple management committee including various office-bearers of each temple. If their votes go against the government, then it will collapse! This is a ploy devised by temple associations against the government. 3,000 temples of South India are going to propagate against this Act. If Ministers, MP’s, MLA’s and various local public representatives are not willing to protect the Sanatan Hindu Dharma, then they do not have a right to hold their respective offices.
