Protest : ‘Halla Bol’ program on UTV Bindass to defame Hindu Saints

Appeal to devout Hindus

A program titled ‘Halla Bol’ on UTV Bindass channel is going to be aired on 2^nd May at 7.00 PM. This episode of the said program is based on the topic of ‘Godman’. One should note that ‘Godman’ is an Indian colloquial term used in a derogatory fashion for a type of charismatic guru in India.

The description given in the official promo of the program on Bindass YouTube channel is : “An aspirant photographer, Meghna is a rebellious girl stays in Delhi, who’s often at loggerheads with her parents over her choice of career and her constant dismissal of their faith in their spiritual leader (Babaji). Meghna blames her parents over- indulgence in their high society life and negligence for her brother’s demise. The friction between them further increases when on the advice of Babaji, Meghna is forced to move into his Ashram for a fortnight because her parents feel she needs to be disciplined. Things get further stirred up when on one occasion she vociferously dismisses a ritual in a room full of people.He not only rapes her repeatedly, but also deprives her of food and water for days, breaking her completely. Deepti – her only confidant in the Ashram comes to her rescue. Horrified by her recent experience, she decides to flee with Deepti’s help but returns with the determination to stop his monstrosity.”

From this description it is evident that even though no name of any present and/or famous Saint has been taken, it shows that a Hindu Saint is indulged in inappropriate act with a girl. As per the description and promo of the program, it should also be noted that if this program is about sexual and physical harassment of women, then why UTV has not taken examples of Christian priests and Muslim maulvis along with Hindu ‘Godman’ ? Hence one can say that this program is aimed to defame Hindu Saints.

Hence we appeal all devout Hindus to protest lawfully on following contact details of UTV Bindass channel, so that they should not telecast the program defaming Hindu Saints and they should also render unconditional apology for hurting religious sentiments of Hindus.
