Pune : HJS takes out procession for welcoming New Year !

Appeal to hoist ‘Gudhi’ for Hindu unity !


Pune : As per Hindu culture, New Year is ‘Gudhi Padva’ and not 1st January. On 29th March, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) took out a rally to welcome New Year. More than 90 devout Hindus and children took part in the rally attired in traditional clothes. Shri. Shailendra Dixit, Vice President of ‘Hindu Ekata Andolan’ for Pune performed ‘puja’ of the ‘Dharma-dhvaj’ followed with breaking of coconut. The rally was then started from ‘Teen Hatti Chowk’ at Dhankavadi.

Devout Hindus participating in the procession held banners with writings about ‘Gudhi Padva as Hindus’ New Year’; ‘exchange greetings of New Year in your mother tongue’ and carried saffron flags. Shri. Balasaheb Babanrao Katrajkar of ‘Om Ambulance’ offered garland to ‘Dharma-dhvaj’ at Kundannagar, Dhankavadi whereas Shri. Borade, Director of ‘Ajinkya Classes’ offered garland as the procession reached Dhankavadi Post Office and Sou. Suvarna Narendra Jangam, an active reader of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ garlanded the ‘Dharma-dhvaj’ at last bus-stop in Dhankavadi, to welcome the procession.

Shiv Sena’s Shri. Kaustubh Deshpande, seekers from ‘Deshmukh Maharaj Foundation Pune’, a spiritual organization, Shri. Parag Gokhale of HJS etc. were present on the occasion.

Highlights

1. Children gathered near the rally on hearing slogans raised by child –seekers and were listening to the ‘Dharma-sandesh’ with curiosity.

2. Shri. Karve explained science behind celebrating Gudhi Padva at the conclusion of the rally.
