In this journey of 12 years, the drive has not remained limited to HJS but it has become the drive of people ! – Sunil Ghanavat

“We are carrying on this drive successfully for the past 12 years. Initially, there was lot of opposition from people who used to go there to play ‘Holi’ with colours and police and administration did not extend any cooperation; but from the second year, as we created awareness amongst people, local residents and later, Irrigation Department and Pune Gramin Police extended cooperation to us. In this period of 12 years, the drive has not remained restricted only to HJS but it is people’s drive and citizens of Pune are now participating in it.”

H. H. Dr. Athavale got ‘sadhana’ done from all seekers through the medium of this drive ! – Dhananjay Karve

“The benefit to Sanatan seekers out of undertaking the drive is, it has been the medium through which H. H. Dr. Jayant Athavale got ‘sadhana’ done from all seekers. Seekers come from different parts of Pune district to join this drive. This year too, such planning has been done and I pray to Bhagavan Srikrushna for success of this drive.”

Activists will immediately inform police as they observe any malpractice taking place ! – Vijay Gawade

This year, the drive will not be limited to only Khadakavasala water reservoir but patrolling will be done even in Pune city. Shri. Gawade of ‘Patit Pavan Sanghatana’ said, “Our activists will patrol in different areas like Shivajinagar, Parvati, Sinhgad Road, Kothrud and Kasaba Peth. There will be 15 activists in every group and they will immediately inform police when they observe malpractices like someone applying colours forcibly to others or there is teasing of women, or misbehaving under influence of liquor etc.”

Citizens interested in joining this drive may contact HJS !

More than 150 participants including HJS activists, Sanatan seekers, employees of Cummins and members of other organizations will cordon off the area by forming ‘human chain’ for protection of water reservoir.
