Bangalore : HJS protests against play titled ‘Ali J’ which glorifies Jinnah being staged

In Congress-led Karnataka, what else is expected other than glorification of Jina !

Bangalore : In a play titled ‘Ali J’ based on politics, there is glorification of Mohammad Ali Jinnah who was the architect of partition of India. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has, therefore, opposed shows of this play proposed to be staged on 31st January and 1st February 2014 at ‘Rangashankara Theatre’. A complaint has also been lodged against this play with J. P. Nagar police station.

  1. HJS has circulated handbills in the city during last few days explaining 14 points based on which the show of the above play is being opposed.
  2. HJS activists led by Shri. Chandru Moger, the Coordinator of HJS for Bengaluru met Arundhati Nag, the Director of this theatre and requested her to cancel shows of the play; but she refused to do so. Shri. Moger, therefore, decided to lodge a complaint against this play with the local police station.
  3. After Shri. Chandru Moger lodged a complaint with J. P. Nagar police station, Police Inspector Manoj Kumar promised that he would call th said play’s writer, director, producer and director of the theatre for explanation and he would watch the play to verify whether any objectionable matter is there taking action in case it is found to be so.
