  • Verdict given by the Supreme Court

  • Appeal by Badve and Utpat being rejected !

  • Will the rulers show the courage to take the charge of Mosques and Churches ?

  • Hindus temples will be handed over to Hindus releasing from the clutches of the Government and the Anti-Dharma rulers will be given punishment of doing spiritual practice for life in Hindu Rashtra !

Pandharpur : It was a jolt to Hindus by the Supreme Court on 15th January by giving the important verdict stating that the state Government will be the custodian of Shri Vitthal Mandir. The appeal made by Mr. Badve and Mr. Utpat stating that, the Government taking the custody of the temple was inappropriate, was rejected by the Supreme Court. Hence now it is confirmed that Shri Vitthal Mandir will remain in the custody of the State Government. All the rights in the hands of Mr. Badve and Mr. Utpat stand terminated. They do not even have the right to worship the Deities in the temple.

  1. The State Government took charge of the Temple in 1974; therefore Mr. Badve and Mr.Utpat appealed in the Supreme Court in the year 1976 demanding the cancellation of the trust established by the State Government and handing over the right of management to them.
  2. The Supreme Court had given then the instruction to go into appeal in the lower Court; but they were unsuccessful everywhere, as the verdicts went against them. Therefore Mr. Badve and Mr. Utpat again had rushed to the Supreme Court.
  3. In the year 1985 Vitthal – Rakhumai Samiti was established. At that very time the Samiti snatched away all the rights from Mr. Badve leaving the right to worship with him. In 2007 all the rights given to Mr. Badve were cancelled by the High Court. Thereafter Mr. Badve had appealed to the Supreme Court.

Traditionally, the right to worship the Deity should remain with Badve and Utpat ! – H. B. P. Bandatatya Karadkar

There should not be monopoly of Badve and Utpat in Shri Vitthal Mandir; but I am of the opinion that the right to worship Shri Vitthal and Shri Rukmini should be with them only as per the tradition. No changes should be made in that.
