In it’s explosive revelation, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has come out with the information that M.F. Hussain has once again displayed the naked picture of ‘Bharatmata’ on his official website. This only proves that his alleged apology was nothing but a farce. HJS has demanded that Husain be immediately arrested and punished for the crime of Treason. The Samiti has continued its ongoing three months old agitation against Husain’s objectionable paintings of Hindu Gods and Goddesses.
Samiti has arranged signature drives at various places like Bhandup, Mulund, Navi Mumbai, Panvel & Pune. Many have signed to express their anger. The Samiti has announced a rally to protest against M. F. Hussain on Saturday, 18th Feb. 2006, in Mumbai. A complaint is being lodged with crime branch for Banning of Hussain’s website & for his arrest. If govt. fails to act, hunger strike will be organized at Tuljapur on 28th Feb. 2006, according to the statement given by Shri. Ramesh Shinde of HJS.
The Samiti has pointed out that although it has been reported widely in the media that Hussain has tendered his apology on 7th Feb. 2006, no one has received the said apology letter. On 9th Feb 2006 Hussain has displayed the controversial painting of Bharatmata on his web site. This is the only picture launched on his web site after 16th April 2004. Whole affair shows that Hussain’s apology was fake and was a drama. This has established his anti-national attitude, beyond doubt, according to Shri. Shinde.
Smt. Sharon Apparao of Apparao Gallery had declared that the said picture has been withdrawn from the auction. However social worker & auction organiser Smt. Nafisa Ali declared that the painting has been sold for Rs. 80 lakhs. She also added that the nude painting of Bharatmata drawn by Hussain is one of the purest amongst her many forms. Therefore Samiti has lodged compliant against Smt. Sharon Apparao, Smt. Nafisa Ali & buyer of the painting at Kanjurmarg & Pantnagar Police station, in Mumbai. So far more than 250 complaints have been lodged against Hussain at different state like Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Andrapradesh & other states too.
