It was planned to hold demonstrations against anti-superstitions Act in a town. Activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had submitted application to Tehsildar and police and received acknowledgement from them. The demonstrations were started at 11.00 a.m. At 11.30 a.m., police inspector (PI) reached the place of demonstrations. He said to the activists of HJS, “Sitting together by more than 5 persons, holding banners, raising slogans or speaking on the topic is not allowed as there is curfew in the area. If you carry on with your demonstrations, we will have to file case against you.” The demonstrations had to be stopped and only representation was given to Tehsildar. It was later learnt that a worker of ANiS had lodged a complaint with the police station on the same morning that when there was curfew in the area, how police granted permission for demonstrations. Police, therefore, stopped the agitation.
