Pro-Hindu organizations stage State-wide agitation against the Act !

Press conference held at Nagpur

Nagpur – 80% of the religious population in State will not keep quiet if the Government passes anti-Hindu Act on the basis of majority in Assembly. Going against their protests will prove to be very dear for the Government. The above warning was given by Shri. Sunil Ghanavat, the State Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for Maharashtra and H.B.P. (Dr.) Shrirampant Sonilkar of Warakari Sampradaya. They also said during the press conference held at ‘Tilak Patrakar Bhavan’ that the Act would be challenged in Court. ‘If the Government passes the Act in winter session of Legislative Assembly, what will the pro-Hindu organisations do?’, asked one reporter when Shri. Ghanavat gave the above reply. Shri. Anand Jakhotia, the spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha and Shri. Baba Kate of Yoga Vedanta Samiti were also present on the occasion. Shri. Ghanavat said while giving more information about the agitation against anti-Hindu Act, “HJS will be staging agitations all over Vidarbha. On 7th December, at Amaravati, 8th December at Akola, 9th December at Vani, 12th December at Murtizapur, 13th December at Digras, 14th December in Vardha will be the schedule of agitations; besides awareness will be created through handbills, social websites, taking out protest march, holding demonstrations etc. In rest of Maharashtra also, HJS has been staging agitations and on 10th December, HJS will participate in huge march proposed to be taken out by Warakaris amidst slogans of ‘Jai hari Bolo; Nagpur Chalo’ to ‘Vidhan Bhavan.’” Regarding shortcomings in the Act, Shri. Ghanavat said, “The most serious thing regarding the Act is that there are no definitions of main words; framing of sentences is ambiguous. Miracles and superpowers have been treated as superstitions, there is no security for religious matters, there are several drawbacks and despite bringing them to notice, no action has been taken. It, therefore, shows the motive behind passing this Act is to impose restrictions on customs and traditions followed by Hindus. Atheists can harass people having faith by using this Act. The existing laws are capable of handling offences like cheating and human sacrifice etc. then why the Government does not stringently implement them ? This Act is being used only against Hindus whereas there have been instances of supporting Muslims and Christians.

Sanatan’s spokesperson, Shri. Anand Jakhotia said, “Anti-superstitions Act does not accept ‘Vedas’, ‘Dharma-shastra’, Ayurveda, ‘Smruti/ Shruti’ etc; besides it is the conspiracy of atheists and anti-Hindus to accuse ‘Purohits’, astrologers, gemologists, priests, Saints, Dharmacharyas, Ayurvedacharyas, trustees of temples etc. and implicate them under false charges so as to imprison them. We, therefore, do not want such Act.”
