Mangalore : Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik has demanded that the state government give Rs 5,000 to every person who goes on the Sabarimala Yatra.

Addressing a press meet at Arya Samaj on Tuesday November 26, he said, “From the past four years, we have been putting forth this demand before the state government. Every Muslim who goes on Hajj pilgrimage is given Rs 42,000 from the state and the central governments. There are nearly 10 lac people from Karnataka who go on Sabarimala Yatra. Hence, each and every Sabarimala pilgrim must be given Rs 5,000."

He further said, "Ayyappa Swami Bhavan also should be constructed in every district just like the proposed Hajj Bhavans."

Urging grant of parole for some of the prisoners in the jails, he said, "From 2006 till date, no well-behaved jail inmate has been released on parole. Despite repeated applications handed over to the governor, no positive response has been received. There are 96 such deserving cases. By January 26, 2014 they must clear out all these applications and release the prisoners,” he said.

“Terrorist activities have been increasing in the coastal belt. DK, Udupi, and Bhatkal are linked wherever there are blasts and terror activities. The government must take these matters seriously and take necessary steps. An ATS (anti-terror squad) has to be deployed in these districts to tackle all the terror activities. In December, I will submit a memorandum to the chief minister and home minister in this regard and also carry out an Abhiyana. In Teerthahalli, a person named Manjunath had been murdered and the family has been accusing Yasin Bhatkal of being the prime culprit in the case. But no action has been taken so far. This clearly looks like the government is supporting the murderer. In addition, the CM has also issued a statement that he doesn’t know who Yasin Bhatkal is,” added Muthalik.

Commenting on the formation of Rama Sene led by Prasad Attavar, he said, “Rama Sene and Sri Rama Sene are one and not divided. Ram Sene activists are still our people and the rest is left to them. We will not fight within ourselves. Without political power, one cannot achieve anything, as in the case of Anna Hazare. If power is in the hands of a good person, they can bring about change. Many people have advised me, hence, I am supporting Narendra Modi,” he said.

On the illegal money trail traced to the city and subsequent arrest of four persons by the Bihar police, he said, “One of the accused in the Aysha case is said to be suffering from cancer. He shouldn’t be released at any cost. If we find him anywhere outside, we are even ready to kill him as he is an anti-nationalist.”

Kumar Malemar, Jeevan Neermarga, Ganesh Attavar, and Pradeep Moodushedde were present.
