Teachings of great personalities from glorious history of this country, will be followed in Hindu Rashtra !

Thane : 900th birth centenary year of renowned mathematician, Bhaskaracharya from 12th century will fall in 2014. The State Government seems to have forgotten about this great mathematician who wrote very important book titled ‘Siddhant Shiromani’; besides presenting concepts of trigonometry, Pythagoras’ principle and circumference/ diameter etc. Nothing has been preserved in the memory of this mathematician whose contribution to mathematics is quite significant. The above regret was expressed by famous astronomer, D. K. Soman. (It is the apathy of so-called secular Government towards great Hindu national personalities that nothing has been preserved in their names by the Government. Rulers, who have no knowledge of glorious history of India, can do nothing for prosperity of this country. – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

The astronomers have, however, decided to celebrate 900th birth anniversary of Bhaskaracharya. Different drives will be undertaken throughout the year so as to make Bhaskracharya’s achievements known to present generation. At Patan near Chalisgaon in Jalgaon District, which is the birth place of Bhaskarachraya, a conference on Astronomy will be held on 18th and 19th January 2014. (Congratulations to astronomers who are going to preserve memories of Bhaskaracharya on the occasion of his birth centenary year ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
