Accusation against H. H. Asaram Bapu’s ‘Mahila Ashram’ is totally false : Gujarat Women Commission

Notorious media throw such news in dust-bin and publish false news !

Sabarmati (Gujarat) : A squad of ‘Gujarat Mahila Ayog’ (Gujarat Women Commission) visited ‘Mahila Ashram’ set up by H. H. Asaram Bapu on 12th October without giving any prior notice for conducting inquiry of serious accusations made against the ashram. This squad interrogated lady- seekers staying in the ashram by calling them individually as also collectively. After 3 hours interrogations, Smt. Leela Ben Ankoliya, the President of ‘Gujarat Mahila Ayog’ said, “We interrogated every lady-seeker individually. Nobody seemed to be under any pressure. None of the lady-seekers have faced any misbehaviour from anyone. All the so-called incidents taking place with these seekers are false. News published by media are so capricious, insulting and shameful that if they were true, women would not have come to this ashram for 36 years in such large number.”

‘Mahila Ashram’ set up by H. H. Asaram Bapu

In 1976, H. H. Asaram Bapu set up ‘Mahila Utkarsha Ashram’ for all-round development of women. In the past 36 years, millions of women went to this ashram for undertaking spiritual practice and to attend ‘satsangs’. Presently, there are 250 women in this ashram; many of them are doctors, engineers, chartered accountants, graduates and post-graduates. They have taken decision on their own to stay in the ashram and lead peaceful life. They are busy in social service. They feel totally secure in the ashram and experience being more progressed, independent and healthy. None of the women has undergone sexual exploitation or abortion or any misconduct and hundreds of women are witness to this. ‘Mahila Ashram’ has been undertaking a drive to stop abortions and ashram-seekers go from place to place, visit villages and towns to explain adverse effects of abortion and create awareness in them. H. H. Asaram Bapu has always told in his ‘satsangs’ that abortion is a sin; other sins have atonements but not abortion.
