Asaram Bapu is being framed : Ashok Singhal

Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Ashok Singhal on Sunday alleged that the charges of rape of minor girl against Asaram Bapu were part of a conspiracy to malign Hinduism by showing the seers in poor light.

Mr. Singhal claimed Asaram would come out clean from the foisted case against him as he did in the past when the charges of sacrifice of two boys were levelled against him to make L.K. Advani the Prime Minister a few years back.

“How could any body level such heinous allegations against an 80-year-old seer,” he asked at a press conference here on Sunday.

‘Attack on Hinduism’

The instances of attack on Hinduism in the form of framing seers in false cases including terror, murder and rape cases and insulting them had increased ever since Sonia Gandhi took the reigns of the Congress party, he alleged.

The “chaurasi kos parikrama” around Ayodhya was being continued by local sadhus and people in spite of the UP Government’s all out efforts in preventing outside sadhus taking part in it.

On October 18, believers in Ram would take ‘sankalp’ (swear) to construct a temple at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya at one-lakh places across the country.

Besides, another one-lakh people would gather on the banks of the Sarayu river at Ayodhya on that day to take the sankalp, the VHP leader added.
