Meeting of Ganesh Mandals arranged at Ghatkopar

Mumbai : A meeting of Ganesh Mandals was organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad on 18th August at Shivaji Vidyalaya, Kajupada Pipe Line. The meeting was attended by 100 representatives of 32 Mandals. Shri. Umesh Gaikwad was the main speaker. Shri. Narendra Surve of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti also addressed the meeting about inappropriate practices in Ganeshotsava.

Shri. Gaikwad said, ‘Present state of Bharat is precarious. Bharat and Hindus are under attack from all 4 directions. Pakistan and China are encroachng. Hindus are being killed in the presence of Home Minister to celebrate Id at Kishtwad, Kashmir. To practice inappropriate deeds on consuming alcoholic beverages during Ganeshotsava is like behaving against Hindu Dharma. Only remedy over such incidents is that Hindus should unite. Ganeshotsava is a festival for uniting Hindus’.

Inappropriate practices encroached in Ganeshotsava under the influence of western culture ! – Shri. Narendra Surve

Shri. Narendra Surve said, ‘Today we are facing many problems. The Police and Government are harassing us. Still, we are celebrating Ganeshotsava. Presently, inappropriate practices have encroached in Ganeshotsava under the influence of western culture. Ganeshotsava is a religious festival, and not a social festival. Shri Surve guided the meeting about appropriate deeds to be followed in Ganeshotsava.

Highlight : A VCD ‘How to celebrate ideal Ganeshotsava ?’ was exhibited at the venue of the meeting. Later, everyone agreed to celebrate Ganeshotsava in a sattvik and religious manner.
