‘Mohammed Nasmid’ arrested for luring, confining girl in Mangalore

Karkala : Karkala police have arrested a man for luring a college girl and illegally confining her in a flat in Mangalore.

The accused is Mohammed Nasmid (21) from Payyannur, Kerala. He was staying in Mangalore.

It is said that Nasmid developed friendship with the girl on Facebook, and managed to win her confidence.

On Monday July 29, the girl left for college, but never reached. She did not return home either.

A complaint was then registered and on Tuesday, the police, her friends and family searched for her. They then learnt that she was seen going towards Mangalore.

The girl was found in a flat in Mangalore. She was rescued by the police and family members and taken back to Karkala.

Based on the girl's statement, the police arrested Nasmid.

Both Nasmid and the girl were taken to Manipal hospital for medical examination.
