Convent schools have grown to such large extent in India due to Raja Rammohan Roy ! British had studied the history of this country before taking over and had deduced that the culture of this country was very strong; therefore, Lord Macaulay, first of all, set up convent schools. Later, Lord Macaulay treacherously advised Raja Rammohan Roy to spread importance of convent schools. Accordingly, Roy started meeting Hindus and recommending to them convent school for their children instead of ‘Gurukul’. Macaulay also propagated that ‘Gurukuls’ were illegal and started to imprison persons who were offering funds to run ‘Gurukuls’. Thus, the number of convent schools grew in this country due to Raja Rammohan Roy. The above views were expressed by Pujya Siddhalinga Mahaswami, ‘Gauravadhyaksha’, Sriram Sena, Karnataka. While talking on the topic of ‘Oppression of Hindu students in convent schools and efforts to oppose ‘tie’ culture’.

Pujya Mahaswami said,

1. Nowadays, Hindus are giving so much importance to missionary schools that they send their children to convent schools even when they cannot afford.

2. Hindu children, who go to such schools, will leave their parents in future.

3. During the last year’s Hindu Convention, I had said that ‘don’t allow Saints to relax and terrorists to be active’. During last year, there has been some progress. A Saint was to attend inauguration program in Karnataka related to publication of Quran in Kannada language. Then Sanatan seeker sent sms message to everyone creating awareness in people. Thus, pro-Hindu activists awakened a Saint who was sleeping, relaxed. A similar sms by Sanatan seeker created awareness in a Saint who was to go for laying foundation stone of a mosque.
