Hindus should offer gratitude at Shri Durge Devi’s feet for this success !

Anti-Hindu artist Eleena Banik behaves rudely with Sou. Varsha Thakar of HJS !

Mumbai : In an exhibition of paintings held at Jehangir Art Gallery, there were nude pictures of Shri Durga Devi. After protest made by Mrs. Varsha Thakar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), these paintings were removed. (Why powerful pro-Hindu organizations are unable to do what a small organization like HJS is doing ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

1. On 6th April 2013, Sou. Varsha Thakar got news about nude pictures of Shri Durga Devi displayed at Jehangir Art Gallery so she visited the exhibition. She found two indecent nude pictures of Shri Durga Devi. She, therefore, asked artist Eleena Banik about those pictures when she said that she was inspired to draw those pictures based on the gang-rape incident of Delhi. (Why Hindu Deities need be used for creating awareness on the problem of gang rape? Why didn’t she show such daring to use objects of worship of Muslims or Christians? Only because Hindus are tolerant, anyone and everyone attacks their seats of worship. Hindus must unite to change this situation ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

2. Sou. Thakar showed her the picture of Shri Durga Devi created by Sanatan and told her, “Such pictures will give true strength to girls. How can pictures drawn by you give such strength? What are you trying to teach through such vulgar pictures ?”

3. On that, Banik said, “I am an artist. I don’t find anything vulgar in these pictures. (Such artists spread vulgarity in society; so incidents of rape will naturally increase. – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)” Sou. Thakar said to her, “You are also a woman. Are you not wearing clothes to cover your body?” On hearing this, Banik got angry and started arguing with Sou. Thakar.

4. Sou. Thakar told her that she had received many complaints about those pictures and she was going to the police station to lodge complaint.  Banik asked her whether she wanted to start communal riots; whether she wanted to eliminate Banik and saying this, she charged on Sou. Thakar. (Banik showed her criminal mentality by charging at Sou. Thakar in such manner by making false accusations. What is the opinion of those, who are always shouting about throttling of their freedom of expression, on Banik’s hooliganism ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

5. Sou. Thakar then called up Police Inspector Sawant from Colaba Police Station; he reached the venue with his force in two vehicles.

6. Banik told to the police her version when they took her side; but Sou. Thakar also explained to them what transpired between Banik and her. When Sou. Thakar was taking photograph of indecent pictures of Shri Durga Devi drawn by Banik, police opposed her. Then Sou. Thakar told police that Banik can draw indecent pictures and why can’t she take photographs to submit them in the police station. Even then, police stopped Sou. Thakar.

7. Sou. Thakar then left the exhibition. Immediately after that, police called up Sou. Thakar and informed her that the controversial pictures of Shri. Durga Devi were taken out from the exhibition and asked her to convey the message to the activists. Later, Mrs. Menon from the Art Gallery called up Sou. Thakar and informed her that she too had asked Banik not to keep those pictures on display but she didn’t listen. Mrs. Menon said, “I will tell her to immediately remove those pictures.”

8. On the following day, few activists were sent to the Art gallery to check when they found that the said pictures were still on display. Sou. Thakar then called up PI Sawant and Mrs. Menon and told her that legal notice would be issued to them through advocates. Mrs. Menon then said that she would remove the pictures immediately. It was later confirmed that the pictures were removed.
