Mumbai : When the State is facing severe drought, celebration of ‘Holi’ festival was organized at new Mumbai. On Sunday, at Nagpur, Saint Shri. Asaram Bapu sprayed water on devotees through water-jet sprays celebrating ‘Holi’ festival. In this background, member of Legislative Council, Sanjay Dutt raised objection on the point of propriety. Members of both sides supported him. Revenue Minister, Balasaheb Thorat said, “Collective celebration of ‘Holi’ should not be organized in view of the severe drought conditions in the State and in case such programs are organized, the organizers should be given instructions in time. Orders to the above effect have been given to the District Collectors.”

Nagpur Municipal Corporation provided tankers for celebration of ‘Holi’ to Saint Asaram bapu; therefore, the Commissioners of Municipal Corporations will be given necessary instructions in this regard. (Congress rulers, raising objection to Pujya Asaram bapu’s ‘Holi’, have never seriously discussed the issue of wastage of water taking place on various occasions in Maharashtra. – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
