Kolhapur (Maharashtra) : Shiv Sena strongly opposes ‘Valentine Day’ as it is imitation of immoral western culture that believes only in enjoyment of life at any cost. Young men and women should also oppose it and should not celebrate this Day as it attacks virtuous Indian culture. The above appeal has been made by Shri. Sambhajirao Bhokre, the Dy. city-chief of Shiv Sena through a circular published on Friday. If this ‘Day’ is celebrated by youth, Shiv Sena will give reply in its style, he warned. (Congratulations to Shiv Sena for fighting against ‘Valentine Day’ every year ! Will the powerful pro-Hindu organizations and BJP learn something from this instance? – Editor SP)

Mr. Sambhaji Bhokre has stated in the circular

1. Celebration of ‘Valentine Day’ standing for western culture, which believes in the principle of enjoyment of life at any cost, is an attack on Indian culture which is based on faith, devotion and sacrifice.

2. Valentine Day has become a black day which devalues morality and decency.

3. Hindus lead a very happy, restrained and moral life and for that they abide by Dharma by following various customs and traditions, observances etc. It is, therefore, wrong for Hindus to glorify Valentine Day.
