Miraj (Maharashtra) :  If ancient great culture of India is followed, the country will progress. Since we always pay respect to our parents, have ‘Matru-Pitru-bhav’, there is no need for us to celebrate any ‘Day’; therefore, celebration of ‘Valentine Day’ which is detrimental to our culture and is only an imititation of western culture,  should be banned. The above appeal has been made by Mr. Nitin Deshmane (RSS). He was speaking in the press conference organized by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to discuss issues related to ‘Valentine Day’

Mr. Vikas Suryavanshi (Shiv Sena), Mr. Sudhir Tavare (HJS), Mrs. Pratibha Tavare and Mrs. Sangita Jadhav (Sanatan Sanstha) attended the conference. Mr. Sudhir Tavare said, “Awareness is being createdamongst people through holding road meetings, visiting more than 50 schools and colleges, giving representations to police, displaying hoardings and distributing handbills etc.” Mr. Vikas Suryavanshi said, “Shiv Sena is against celebration of such ‘Days’ and will participate in HJS activities for the same.”
