'Allow Hindus to pray at Bhojshala on Friday Basant Panchmi'

Allahabad (UP) : A group of Hindu religious leaders at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela have demanded that devotees be allowed to offer prayers at the ‘Bhojshala’ in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district on ‘Basant Panchmi’ which falls on February 15, a Friday.

BJP Government will be then responsible for the consequences. In such strong words, Shrikashi Sumeru Pithadeeshwar Jagatguru Swami Narendracharya Saraswati warned BJP.

He was addressing press conference organized by ‘Ma Saraswati Mandir, Bhoj-shala Mukti Ydnya Samiti’ at ‘Press Club’, Prayagraj. Jagatguru Swami Narendracharya Saraswati said, “In the ‘shala’ established by Maharaj Bhoj, there never was any mosque, nor is it now. Hindus have the right to perform ‘puja’ and worship on one day in the year i.e. Vasant Panchami in Saraswati Mandir. If they are opposed even to do that, any odd situation can arise. We expect peace and good will. If the Government does not pay respect to religious sentiments of Hindus, it will be responsible for the consequences.”

In the year 2006, BJP government in MP had beaten up Hindus to appease Muslims. The Government should render apology for the same. Also, police involved in beating up Hindus, should be punished. Hindus should be allowed to perform ‘puja’ at Saraswati Mandir throughout on 15th February; the day of Vasant Panchami; else Hindus all over the country will stage intense agitations. For us, Hindus come first, and then RSS, BJP and VHP. The then Chief Minister, Uma Bharati had made a resolve to allow performing of ‘puja’ at Saraswati Mandir on regular basis. Now the present chief Minister of the same party should complete that resolve.

Congress Chief Minister, Digvijay singh opened Saraswati Mandir in MP for Muslims to read ‘namaz’; whereas in BJP’s regime, Hindus were denied to perform ‘puja’ even on one day of Vasant Panchami. This shows that there is no difference between Congress and BJP. BJP remembers Sriram Mandir only during ‘Kumbh-Mela’. Allowing Hindus to perform ‘puja’ at Saraswati Mandir on the day of Vasant Panchami is the first priority.

Even after oppression of Hindus in the year 2006 on the issue of Saraswati Mandir, why the problem still exists? It is because the media did not understand the gravity of the problem. Hindus are being oppressed at one place and rest of the country is unaware about the same. Time has now come for journalists to think; they need to realize the seriousness of the problem.
