HJS drive on the occasion of Diwali – ‘Diwali Janajagruti Abhiyan’ : representations submitted to Police and Administration at Nagpur and Akola

Nagpur (Maharashtra) : Pictures of Hindu Deities and great national leaders are printed on the covering of crackers. When these crackers are burst, they are shredded into pieces which later, get trampled. This causes desecration of Deities and great national leaders. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) submitted representation to the resident District Collector, Pramod Bhusari, Mayor, Mr. Anil Solay and Police Commissioner (Special Branch), Mr. Ankush Dhanvijay besides Dhantoli Police Station, Sonegaon and Bardi Police Stations demanding prevention of such desecration.

Mr. Bhusari said, “You should give such representation where these crackers are manufactured. I will also try at my level.” The Special Branch has advised that 22 police stations in Nagpur will be advised on the subject through e-mail. Mr. Ashok Lihkite, Subhash Zanvar, Atul Arvenla of HJS and Mr. Madhukar Gurav of Sanatan Sanstha were present on the occasion.

Cases will be filed against sellers of crackers with pictures of Deities ! – Police

Akola (Maharashtra) : HJS submitted representations to the District Collector besides City Kotwali, Old city and Khadan Police Stations. Police Inspector (PI) Vilas Patil of City Kotwali Police Station said, “We will send a copy of your representation to the District Collector and Home Department requesting them to issue a circular in this regard. We will inform even ‘Phataka Dealers Association’ of Akola for not buying crackers with pictures of Deities. Retail sellers can also be instructed against keeping such crackers on sale; else cases will be filed against them. If you find anyone selling crackers with pictures of Deities, you can inform us and we will file case against them.” Mr. Dheeraj Jadhav of HJS, Mr. Avinash Mote, Mr. Ajay Khot, Mr. Vasant Joshi, Mr. and Mrs. Rajandekar, Mrs. Madhuri More, Mrs. Pratibha Jadi, Mrs. Shruti Bhat and Smt. Pachade of Sanatan Sanstha were present on the occasion.

Thane (Maharashtra) :  Bursting crackers with pictures of Deities cause their desecration; the firework causes air and noise pollution. Crackers can also set things on fire and cause destruction of property worth billions of rupees. In the present times of high inflation, firework which results in waste of money and pollution, should be avoided, was the appeal made by Mr. Ajay Sambhus of HJS in a press conference held here.

Mrs. Vaishali Kothmire of Sanatan Sanstha explained that celebration of Diwali, with spiritual perspective, is more beneficial.
