Cases of robbery filed against activists protecting cows are withdrawn !

October 3, 2012

Pune (Maharashtra) :
Khed police committed sin of nabbing activists trying to protect cows and held them in custody under the case of robbery. After news about the same was published in ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat (DSP)’, pro-Hindu activists from various places condemned the Police; as a result, they had to withdraw the case of robbery against the said activists.  On 15th September, activists of an organisation called ‘People for Animals’, working for protection of cows, held a tempo transporting cattle in an illegal manner. Khed Police, however, put these activists behind bar registering case of robbery against them. This injustice with Hindus was boldly published by DSP. Thousands of copies of this issue of DSP were sponsored by devout Hindus. Hindus from Kolhapur, Pune, Sangli etc. submitted a representation to the Administration against such wrongdoing of the Police creating pressure on the department. Thereafter, the case of robbery (under Sect. 395) of the Indian Penal Code, filed against the activists was withdrawn.

Mr. Santosh Bhagade of Bajarang Dal said in this respect that the news published in DSP made Hindus aware of the issue and they asked Police the reason for behaving in such manner and withdrawal of charges was the outcome of that news.

‘People for Animals’ thank DSP !

Mr. Neelesh Andhale of ‘People for Animals’ has sent a letter to the office of DSP congratulating and thanking them. He has stated in the letter that owing to the news published by DSP and pressure created by people, Police had to withdraw the cases. Although the masterminds behind the issue were not yet nabbed, keeping faith in the judiciary, he still expressed hope that they would be stringently punished.
