Pune (Maharashtra) : Terming the report submitted by the team of interlocutors on Jammu & Kashmir as anti-national, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP and spokesperson Tarun Vijay on Friday demanded that the Union government scrap the report.

He was addressing a press conference at the BJP city unit office in Budhwar Peth on Friday. BJP city unit president Vikas Mathkari and women’s wing unit president Medha Kulkarni were present.

Vijay is director of Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Foundation, a BJP think tank, and was editor of ‘Panchajanya’, mouthpiece of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He is on a statewide tour to create awareness about the report submitted by the interlocutors

The Union ministry of home affairs (MHA) had appointed a team of interlocutors to hold sustained dialogue with all sections of society in Jammu & Kashmir. The three-member team headed by journalist Dileep Padgaonkar and including educationist Radha Kumar and former information commissioner MM Ansari submitted its report to the government in October 2011. The report was released to the public by the MHA last month.

He said the report suggested taking the situation in Jammu & Kashmir back to what it was in 1953, which was unacceptable.
