Press conference by Warakaris at Pandharpur
Pandharpur (Maharashtra) : The proposed anti-superstitions act is applicable to Hindu Dharma and is an attack on Dharma. If passed, it will impose ban on Warakaris’ pilgrimage to Pandharpur, religious customs like Haripath, ‘keertan’, ‘Harinaam-saptaah’, fast observed on Ekadashi, Satyanarayan Puja etc. as they will be branded as superstitions. Warakari Sect, therefore, strongly opposes the proposed Act. Mr. Pruthviraj Chavan, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra should take note of Warakari Sampradaya’s demand and should declare the proposed anti-superstition Act as cancelled in the forthcoming monsson session of the State Legislative Assembly to obtain grace of Lord Panduranga. This is the demand of all Warakaris; else, the Government will have to face agitation by Warakaris and various Sects as also by people. The above warning was given on behalf of Warakari Sect.

State Govt. betrayed Warakaris !
The State Government had promised to H.B.P. Vaskar Maharaj and other Saints of Warakari Sect that a co-ordinating committee of Warakaris would be set up to understand the objections raised by Warakaris to the above Act; but instead of appointing such Committee and without paying attention to the objections raised by Warakaris, the said Bill was presented in July 2011. All Warakari Sects and various pro-Hindu organizations took out a huge rally to protest against the same on 14th December 2011; also demonstrations were held on 21st March 2012 at Azad Maidan, Mumbai. The Government is continuously betraying Warakaris and advising that the anti-superstition Bill would be brought for discussions. This has generated a wave of anger among all Warakaris in Maharashtra. If the Government passes this Act, it will have to face opposition from all people and pay its price, was the warning given by Warakari Sect, Saints-Mahants, ‘Dharmacharyas’ and organizations to the Government. Will show black flags to CM – H.B.P. Vakte Maharaj
Warakaris met the Chief Minister (CM) and other 4-5 ministers and explained to them how all clauses of the proposed Act were against Hindus; even then, the Government has deceived Warakaris. The Government should cancel the Act and obtain the grace of Lord Panduranga; else face wrath of all Warakaris. For this ‘Ashadhi’ pilgrimage, saffron flags will be taken out and the CM will be shown black flags as mark of protest, warned H.B.P. Vakte Maharaj, the President of ‘Rashtriya Warakari Sena’. He also informed that memorandum would be submitted to the CM in this context. Is the Faith shown by the President, Prime Minister, CM to be considered as superstition? – Shri. V. N. Utpat
Dr. Dabholkar has faith that there is superstition in Hindu Dharma. What he feels is Faith and what we feel is superstition? You refer to Babasaheb Ambedkar as your father; once he survived an accident; when he had written that ‘some supernatural power’ saved him. Was it also false? The President, Prime Minister, Chief Minister visit Pandharpur for ‘darshan’ of Vitthal-Rukmini; is that also superstition? Dr. Dabhoklakr needs to answer this. How can Dr. Dabholkar’s son’s name be Hamid? – H.B.P. Tuntun Maharaj
If Dr. Dabholkar is a Brahmin by birth; how his son’s name is Hamid? The Government overlooks superstitions of Muslims and Christians; but have objection only to superstitions of Hindus.Source : Dainik Sanatan Prabhat
