Bangalore: The state government might have been planning for cloud seeding for rains, but the Greater Bangalore Municipal corporation is mulling over organizing the prayers in religious places to invoke Rain God.

With water scarcity, becoming a huge issue to tackle as the bore wells have dried up in most localities of the city, the BBMP has been facing public wrath. In every council meeting, the corporators of all 198 wards complain to the BBMP commissioner for the lack of water supply.

On Wednesday, BBMP Commissioner M K Shankarlinge Gowda said that the BBMP would organise prayers at all the churches, temples and mosques to appease rain gods.

According to sources, BBMP has spent over Rs 80 crore for supplying water to the newly added areas through water tankers. As the BWSSB is yet to lay its pipeline to the newly added 110 villages, it has been BBMP's responsibility to supply water to those areas.

Despite, the speculation of rainfall made by the meteorological department, rain god is yet to shower in Bangalore.
