After independence, Gandhi-Nehru’s Congress started sowing the seeds of corruption in this country. Out of 64 years of independence, Congress has ruled this country for 55 years including present Government. During this period, the Congressmen have been more interested in providing for self and their future generations rather than working for welfare of this country by looting the Government coffers. On one hand, when the country’s debts are mounting, on the other hand, the Congressmen are accumulating lot of wealth. How these Congressmen have looted this country can be seen from the following cases of scams.

1.Corruption during the regime of Gandhi family

1.b. Corruption of Sanjay Gandhi : During the regime of Indira Gandhi as Prime Minister , scams related to purchase of submarines and Sanjay Gandhi’s involvement in the scam of ‘Maruti’, car manufacturing company were exposed. In the year 1975, Sanjay Gandhi and Bansilal’s involvement in Maruti Industry worth Rs. 100 crores was exposed. In the year 1980, corruption case of Prakashchand Sethi came to light wherein changes were made as instructed by Sanjay Gandhi in the tenders of Indian Oil by Mr. Sethi.

1.d. Corruption of ministers in Rajiv Gandhi’s regime : In the year 1988, in the Commission set up for purchase of equipments for Government hospitals, the then Health Minister was responsible for the Government losing tax to the tune of Rs. 5000 crores (Present value – Rs. 70,000 crores). In the coal scam of 1989, swindling of Rs. 50 crores (present value- Rs. 700 crores) was exposed. In the year 1991, in purchase of aero planes, there was scam of Rs.200 crores (present value – Rs. 1600 crores) brought forth in the concerned department.
1.e. Corruption cases of Arjun Singh, the then Congress CM of Madhya Pradesh : Mr. Arjun Singh, the then Congress Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh had helped Mr. Anderson, the main culprit of Bhopal Gas leakage case to run away to USA; he was also involved in ‘Churhat’ lottery case.

2.b. Congress’ Narasimharao Govt. makes use of NRI’s money for the first time for political gains ! : Narasimharao will always be remembered for foreign infiltration in Indian economy. Use of NRI money in political affairs had become a topic of discussion. Case of share broker Ketan Dalal related to Rao involved only Rs. 1 crore; but Harshad Mehta’s activities had shaken Indian share market.
2.c. Telecom scam of Congress minister Sukhram : Today, 2G spectrum scam is known to everyone; similar scam during the regime of Rao by the then telecom minister Sukhram cannot be forgotten. Sukhram’s Rs. 5 crore scam had created storm in political field. Sukhram was also sent to jail.

3.a. Scam in Commonwealth games : After Vajpayee, Congress was re-elected to power in the Centre and a joint progressive front was formed. This time, corruption broke all records and not only India but the whole world was stunned. Many political leaders were happy when it was decided to hold Commonwealth games in Delhi. Games started much later; but the corruption game started before that. These corrupt players broke all records in which Suresh Kalmadi was on top.
3.b. 2-G spectrum scam creates record in corruption ! : In the scam involving Rs. 1, 76,000 crores, A. Raja, telecom Minister from Dr. Manmohan Singh’s Government and MP, Kanimozi are booked.
3.c. Corruption cases of the then Maharashtra CMs Ashok Chavan, Vilasrao Deshmukh and Sushilkumar Shinde : In ‘Adarsh Housing Society’ reserved for Armed Forces, the then Chief Minister Ashok Chavan booked flats for his relatives; many MLAs of Congress and NCP and Government bureaucrats got houses. It has come to light that the then Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Susheel kumar Shinde were also involved in this scam.
4. Foreign accounts of members of Sonia Gandhi’s family
Various cases of scams are coming to light in the regime of Manmohan Singh Government. The most severe problem before him is the foreign accounts held by family members of President of Joint Progressive Front, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and the black money deposited by them is discussed every day.(Courtsey : ‘Dainik Saamna’, 12.07.2011)
