Devout Hindus had made a demand that Marathi film ‘Deool’ should not be screened during the Marathi film festival held in Goa as there is despicable denigration of Sri Datta and other Deities worshipped by billions of Hindus; however, the film was shown in the said festival on two days on 9th and 10th June 2012. A complaint was lodged with Panaji police to stop screening of the film. The police did not take cognizance of the complaint lodged by Hindus; moreover, huge security was provided at the venue of screening of the said film.
