Indore (Madhya Pradesh) : The exhibition of paintings of the Hindu-hater artist MF Husain organised by the painter Mr. Vishnu Namdev at Indore on the occasion of his first death anniversary has been cancelled after Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and other ardent Hindus strongly objected to it. (The Hindus like Vishnu Namdev who hold exhibition of MF Husain who had drawn nude paintings of Hindu Deities and Bharatmata are the real enemies of Hindu Dharma and Nation. Congratulations to ardent Hindus who have foiled the attempt to glorify Husain ! Hindus from elsewhere should learn a lesson from this ! – Editor SP)
The artist Vishnu Namdev had planned to hold exhibition of Husain’s paintings on 9th June 2012. Wide publicity blitz was carried on in the entire Indore city. When HJS came to know about it, Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, coordinator of Mumbai division of HJS contacted him and asked him to stop Husain’s glorification. Mr. Namdev said, “Husain was very good. I consider him as my guru. I am going to hold the exhibition on a big scale to pay homage to him. There are no derogatory pictures in it.”
Mr. Vatkar said, “Husain drew nude and obscene pictures of Hindu Deities. Being a Hindu yourself, you should have felt ashamed to consider a sinner like him as a guru. So far we compelled the organisers everywhere else to cancel such exhibitions of Husain. Glorifying him amounts to hurting our religious feelings. Indore is the place of my guru H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj. The sin of glorification of Husain will not be allowed at this Holy place. All Hindus will oppose it unitedly.” Mr. Namdev said, “I have completed my planning and have spent a lot for it. It will put me to a great loss.” Mr. Vatkar said, “In spite of our requests, if you go ahead with the exhibition, no Hindu will buy your pictures in future and then you will have to suffer huge financial loss. If you wish to arrange a programme to mark his death anniversary, make his statue and stage ‘Hit with shoes’ (Jute Maro) agitation. If you are unable to do so, we will do.”
Mr. Namdev said, “Now I realised the seriousness of the issue. Let us meet and take a decision on this. I shall cooperate with you.” Thereafter Mr. Benisingh Raghuvanshi, coordinator of HJS in Indore contacted him and demanded that the exhibition be cancelled. Similarly, several ardent Hindus flooded Mr. Namdev with telephone calls and asked him to cancel the exhibition. A protest letter was handed over to him and the chief of the hall on behalf of HJS. Thereafter he gave an assurance in writing that the exhibition was being cancelled.
