Mumbai : Zee Marathi have apologized for hurting religious sentiments of Hindus in a special episode of ‘Fu Bai Fu’ a comedy serial telecast on ‘ZEE Marathi’ channel on 13th May 2012. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti strongly protested against the denigration in comedy serial 'Fu Bai Fu' and written a protest letter to executive producer, Ms. Deepa Teli. In the protest letter it was mentioned that In this comedy serial, ‘Mahabharata’, the Holy Scripture revered by Hindus was ridiculed stooping to vulgarity and at very low level. The dialogues with acting related to ‘Mahabharata’, ‘Mata Kunti’, Draupadi and Pandavas etc. were very cheap and with double meanings leading to extreme denigration. In this, Draupadi was shown as a woman of loose character. Earlier in this serial, there had been deliberate denigration of Saints- Sages through different episodes. Now, there is increase in such denigrations.

Daily Sanatan Prabhat, the Pro-Hindu daily Marathi newspaper in Maharashtra published the news and made an appeal to Hindus to oppose this grave denigration which had hurt the sentiments of Hindus. After this many Hindus have written protest letters to Zee Marathi. One such devout Hindu Mr. Rakesh Vikhar who wrote a protest letter have received apology letter from Zee Marathi.

Here we present the apology letter sent in Marathi by Zee Marathi Channel and Protest letter written by Mr. Rakesh Vikhar

Mumbai : In a special episode of ‘Fu Bai Fu’ a comedy serial telecast on ‘ZEE Marathi’ channel on 13th May 2012, ‘Mahabharata’, the Holy Scripture revered by Hindus was ridiculed stooping to vulgarity and very low level. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has written a protest letter to executive producer, Ms. Deepa Teli.

(Hindus, who are responsible for vulgar mockery of their revered holy text ‘Mahabharata’, are blot on Hindu Dharma. Such Hindus will not be protected by God in the time of crisis. – Editor SP)

It has been stated in the protest letter sent by Mr. Sumeet Sagavekar , Mumbai district coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) that the episode was written by Sachin Mote and actors Kushal Badrike and Rasika have enacted the denigrating part. It is completely your responsibility as the producer of the program to take care of religious and social sentiments of all. They are polluting the social atmosphere by showing such programs.

The above program has been presented only to create humour and without undertaking study of Holy Scriptures, characters and historical incidents. The program telecast by your channel has hurt religious sentiments of Hindus all over the world. Such denigration is irreparable damage caused to Hindu Dharma. We, therefore, demand through the medium of this letter that the producer, director, actors and writer of this program should render public apology on this channel and should give it in writing that, in future, same mistake would not be made by them; else HJS will stage intense agitations and appeal will be made to cable operators, distributors and all Hindus to boycott your channel.’

The objectionable dialogues in this serial :

Duryodhan: What about the twins?

Draupadi: Which twins?

Duryodhan: This Nakul and Sahadev

Draupadi : Oh, Thursday and Friday

Draupadi : Yes, Thursday meant for Nakul and Friday for Sahadeva (meaning that she stays with every Pandava on different days in week) …holiday on Saturday – Sunday..

Duryodhan: Oh, this Saturday – Sunday holiday concept has been taken from those days and we are unnecessarily thanking Indian Government.

Draupadi: What were you saying about that Thursday – Friday?

Duryodhan: That Yudhishthir…..

Draupadi: Means Monday…

Duryodhan: Ok, has your Monday given cultural department to Thursday and Friday? The same Thursady and Friday, get extended to even ‘Saturday night’.

Draupadi: What does that mean?

Duryodhan: Everyday, they are inviting actresses, making them dance and offering them houses from artists’ quota (acting as if throwing money at ‘Bar-girls’.)

Draupadi: I don’t pay attention to such trivial matters. (With gestures of making time for 5 husbands); all my time is spent in managing the week.

Duryodhan: Ok, I will tell you the reason for my coming here. I want your Saturday.

Draupadi: (cursing him),wait, I will now smear you with cowdung. You are asking for Saturday? (blushing) Come if you want Sunday !

Duryodhan: That Arjun has bloated so much that he cannot hold his bow and arrow as it comes in the way; therefore, he goes without it.

Draupadi: He has problem while sitting in a chair due to ‘Gandiva’. (When ‘gandiva’ is being referred, Duryodhana makes vulgar gestures.)

Draupadi: Gandiva was the name of Arujun’s bow; therefore, he goes without his bow.

Duryodhan: Why he couldn’t get another name for his bow?

Draupadi: Oh, it is a bow…., therefore, it comes in the way while sitting on a chair.

Duryodhan: If he has problem with ‘Gandiva’; he should keep it in his lap.

Duryodhana: Are you Draupadi? Means you are the one after whom the 100 Kauravas and 5 Pandavas are obsessed? (On this, Draupadi blushes and sits in a chair.)
