Mumbai : In a stinging attack on anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare and his team, Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray on Sunday went on record lambasting Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi and Shanti and Prashant Bhushan, calling them controversial.

Making a reference to last year’s incident of the IT department asking Right to Information (RTI) activist Arvind Kejriwal to pay dues of about Rs9 lakh for allegedly violating the provisions of the bond under which he went on a study leave for two years, Thackeray said, "Kejriwal had a case going against him, he had to cough up the fine.”

Thackeray also trained his guns on former IPS and Team Anna member Kiran Bedi accusing her of swindling funds.

“Kiran Bedi also claimed business class tickets and flew economy class. She swindles the rest of the money,” he said.

Lawyers Prashant Bhushan and Shahsi Bhushan also came in for scathing criticism from Thackeray, calling Prashant Bhushan, who was assaulted by radical elements in his chamber last year for his comments on Kashmir, a controversial person.

“We read everyday in the newspapers. He had asked for a referendum for the people of Kashmir. Is Kashmir your father's birthday cake?" said the founder of Shiv Sena.
