Hindus should pay gratitude at the feet of God for this success !


  Mumba :  Paintings by Hindu-hater M F Husain were kept on exhibit and sale by ‘Indian Fine Art’ gallery located in Tardeo area in Mumbai; but the same were removed after awareness created by activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) on the issue.

Twenty paintings by Husain were kept on sale and the sale was to take place from 28th March to 9th April 2012 between 11.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. On the website of this art gallery viz.http://www.indiafineart.com/Exhibitions/Anniversary/Home.asp, one of the paintings was sold. Mr. Shivaji vatkar, the district coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad called up the art gallery as he came to know about the sale. Mr. Santosh from the art gallery informed Mr. Vatkar about 20 paintings of Husain and sale of one painting. Mr. Vatkar told, “Husian has hurt our religious sentiments by drawing indecent and obscene pictures of Hindu Deities. Everyone is against exhibiting any work of Husain; therefore, remove all Husian’s paintings from the exhibition.” Mr. Santosh said that he would consult the owner and take action accordingly.  

Today, Mrs. Varsha Thakar of HJS met Mr. Manvind Daver, the owner of the art gallery when he informed that Husian’s paintings were removed from the exhibition. Mrs. Varsha Thakar and Miss Tejal Gandhi checked with the art gallery and observed that Husain’s paintings were removed from the main exhibition. Mr. Daver said, “We felt nice when you esxplained to us about the issue. Now, we will not keep Husain’s and other denigrating paintings on exhibit. We do not want to hurt religious sentiments of anybody.” Mrs. Varsha Thakar then said, “Along with others, even your religious sentimenhts have got hurt; therefore, do not keep such pictures on exhibit in future.”
