Amravati : HJS organizes lectures and ‘Gudhi Padwa’ processions

Amaravati (Maharashtra):
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) organized lectures at 15 places to create awareness among Hindus about the ‘Gudhi Padwa’ festival i.e. Chaitra Shuddha Pratipada, the new year of Hindus. Processions were organized at 3 places to create such awareness. All programs received good response from the people.

Various points explaining the science behind performing ‘puja’ of the ‘Gudhi’, why it is celebrated as New Year of Hindus, the manner of hoisting ‘Gudhi’, experimental part of hoisting ‘Gudhi’ and making flower ‘toran’, prayer to be made, spiritual importance of ‘neem’ as sacrament and  exchanging of greetings in Marathi etc. were presented. Specialities of ‘Dainik (daily) and Saptahik (weekly) Sanatan Prabhat’ were also explained.

Processions in two parts of the city

Hoisting of ‘Gudhi’ and its ‘puja’ were peformed in the procession taken out at Sainagar by Mr. Sharad Daterao, the secretary of Sai temple and its manager Mr. Avinash Dhage. Procession taken out in Gadagenagar was started with ‘puja’ of the ‘Gudhi’ by municipal councilor, Mrs. Yojana Revaskar and during the procession; ‘puja’ of the ‘Gudhi’ was performed on its route by Mrs. Kanta Dhamankar, Mrs. Shobha Vaidya, Mrs Raut and Mrs. Suman Sarode.
