Dombivali (Thane) : Women’s delegation of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti submitted a representation to senior police inspector Mr. Vilas Jadhav and Shamrao Gaikwad from Ramnagar police station and Assistant police inspector Mr. Mulye of Vishnunagar police station for prevention of malpractices taking place during celebration of Holi festival and Rangpanchami.  Many women attending Dharma-shikshan classes of HJS were present on the occasion. Everybody lauded HJS drive and promised to extend full cooperation.

Owing to lack of ‘Dharma-shikshan’, ‘Holi’ and ‘Rang-panchami’ are celebrated in perverted manner. There are wrong things happening like shouting, abusing, smearing black paint on face, drinking liquor and misbehaving etc. Nowadays, there are incidents of even taking drugs, rev parties, immoral relations with women which malign our culture. Men throw colour at women on Rang-panchami, tease them, make indecent gestures looking at them , throw balloons filled with dirty water and smear paints which are not good for health etc.

If such colours and balloons are not sold in market, these malpractices can be controlled to a large extent and therefore, the representation was submitted. HJS activists viz. Mrs. Alpana Joshi, Mrs. Sheetal Jadhav, Mrs. Chaudhary, Mrs. Nibre, Mrs. Shirke, Mrs. Lotalikar, Mrs. Sakshi Belvalkar, Mrs. Kumbhar, Mrs. Jagatap, Mrs. Kothmire and Miss Manda Patil were present on the occasion.

Highlights : Senior Police Inspector Shamrao Gaikwad of Tilaknagar police station immediately sent instructions to schools and colleges; instruction was also telecast as footnote on local cable channels and he said that if HJS gave any VCD, it would also be shown on cable channels.
