Mangalore (Karnataka): National Investigating Agency (NIA) was so far saying that Sanatan was not involved in Margao bomb blast; even then due to Government’s pressurization, it has started oppressing Sanatan seekers claiming that the accused in this case is a relative of Sanatan seeker. Sanatan Sanstha held a press conference at Hotel Woodlands to make people aware about the facts. Sanatan’s seekers Mr. Vinod Kamat, Vinaykumar and Udaykumar gave information to reporters about the manner in which NIA officers Seturam and Manu harassed them. The press conference was also attended by Mr. Ramesh Nayak of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Mr. Anant Kamat, a devout Hindu and Mr. Umesh Shenai, trustee of Sanatan Sanstha from Mangalore besides other devout Hindus.

Appeal to be made to Human Rights Commission !

1. We were beaten up in the police station during inquiry; our clothes were removed and we were kicked.

2. When we sought permission to undergo medical examination, permission was denied and we were forced to remain in the house.

3. We are being treated as offenders in our village and our hotel business is also adversely affected.

4. When we went to Mangalore with a demand that our loss should be made good by NIA, it was falsely informed to the media that we remained absent only to defame us.

We are going to lodge a complaint with Human Rights Commission and with women’s commission for our sister getting threatened; we are taking legal advice about giving a representation to the Chief Minister. Seekers also informed that they could be once again harassed for holding a press conference and they would be seeking police protection.

Complaint to be lodged with senior officers of NIA against Seturam and Manu

Inquiry conducted by NIA officers so far was within the parameters of  law; but the manner of inquiry by newly appointed officers viz. Seturam and Manu is not as per the law. Both the officers called us for inquiry without issue of any summons. We went to face inquiry only to cooperate with NIA even without the summons. These officers are demanding certain things from us when there is no such written order. We will, therefore, be lodging a complaint with senior NIA officers as also with the police.

Karnataka Govt. should take responsibility of our safety !

Our life is not safe owing to the oppression meted out to us by NIA officers and their threats. As the citizens of Karnataka State, responsibility of our safety lies with the Karnataka Government. The Government should therefore, provide security to us for some time, appealed the seekers.

Representatives of newspapers attending the press conference

Representatives of various newspapers like ‘Hosdigant’, ‘Udayvani’ etc. and representatives of 3 news channels, in all 18 reporters, attended the press conference. ‘Sahayy TV” and ‘Namma Kudla TV’ interviewed Mr. Uday and Mr. Vinay.

Seekers should aggressively and immediately, but in lawful manner, oppose tyrannical acts of machineries like NIA for their terrorist mentality !

For the past 17 days, officers of National Investigating Agency (NIA) alias ‘National Hindu Oppression Agency’ have been oppressing Sanatan seekers in the name of conducting inquiry. The officers with their tyrannical mentality, have indulged in terrorist like acts e.g. hitting seekers with their shoes, pulling seekers’ hair, hitting them continuously on delicate parts like ears, making seekers sit on the floor without clothes, not allowing them to have tea or eatables, keeping them without food, not allowing them to even go for nature’s calls, not ever going on the given time for inquiry; but deliberately going for inquiry in the late night, threatening seekers with destroying their relatives’ life, telling lies to seekers and their relatives, taking all proofs from seekers about their citizenship without giving any acknowledgement for the same, threatening seekers every now and then about their arrest, giving wrong information to relatives of seekers and scare them etc. Such acts of such machineries have maligned even humanity. Sanatan seekers held a press conference on 22nd February at Mangalore to explain to people, the black deeds of NIA officers.

After the press conference, a senior police officer called up the advocate of seekers telling him that seekers would be treated properly and there would be no need for him to go to the police station.

The above instance shows that we have to aggressively but in lawful manner, oppose such oppressive illegal acts; else their oppression will go on increasing. Seekers should therefore, with the advice of their lawyers, take appropriate action like holding press conferences, immediately informing pro-Hindu activists, lodging complaints with ministers and senior police officers, taking legal action in case of need, lodging a complaint with Human Rights Commission etc.
