Hindus should not rely on the promise but follow up the matter till the one-act play is cancelled !

Issue of defamation of ‘Pandharpur pilgrimage’ in one-act play staged by MD College !

Sangli (Maharashtra) : It was read by H. B. P. Ramakant Bongale, the President of Sangli District Warakari Sampradaya’ in the news item published in ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ that there was defamation of  ‘Pandharpur pilgrimage’ in the one-act play titled ‘Thararali Veet’ staged by Maharshi Dayanand (MD) College from Mumbai. On learning about it, he immediately called up Mr. Abhijit Khade, the Director of the play for asking him for an explanation. Mr. Khade accepted his mistake and promised Bongale Maharaj that shows of the said play would not be staged in future. (Congratulations to H. B. P. Bongale Maharaj for taking prompt action against defamation of seats of worship and faith of Hindus ! Hindu youth must learn from H. B. P. Vakte Maharaj and H. B. P. Bongale Maharaj and follow their example ! – Editor SP)

Bongale Maharaj told Mr. Khade over phone that Warakari Sampradaya was the biggest Sect in the country that awakens patriotism among people. Warakari Sect always tries to maintain its sanctity. It is, therefore wrong to associate malpractices taking place at other places with this pilgrimage. It is a way of hurting faith of Warakaris. The show of the play should be immediately cancelled. Warakaris have also demanded that during the pilgrimage, there should be ban on sale of meat, liquor etc. in Pandharpur. The Government has not yet acceded to the request of warakaris but the efforts are going on. Mr. Khade said that discussions and meetings were on to decide about the matter and the said show would not be staged in future.

Maharshi Vidyanand College from Mumbai dishonouring Pandharpur’s Wari through a ‘One act play’

O, Hindus get united to stop such a dishonour !

Demand on behalf of Warkari Sampraday and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti to stop the presentation of the ‘One act play’

Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra) : Maharshi Vidyanand College from Mumbai has tried to dishonour the Wari in the ‘One act play’, ‘Thararli Veet’ showing that ‘Pandharpur’s Wari encourages Prostitution’, while presenting the play. Vishwa Warkari Sena, Sri Randevi Bhajani Mandal, from Navi Mumbai, Akhil Bhandup Warkari Sampraday Mandal etc. and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) have made a demand to stop the ‘One act play’ immediately.

A delegation of HJS had told the director of the ‘One act play’, Abhijit Khade to eliminate the presentation of the play explaining about the reason behind the objection to the presentation, meeting him twice; but there was no positive response from him. (Born Hindus like Khade who despite Constitutional opposition, bent upon dishonouring the places of faith of Hindus, are themselves heirs of Muslims ! No need to mention what would have happened if this happened with respect to places of Muslim faith ! – Editor) A meeting of Warkari Organisations and HJS was organised with Kahde on this background at Shiv Mandir near Sri Jagruteshwar Mandir at Navi Mumbai. At that time the spokesperson of Vishwa Warkari Sena, Haribhaktaparayan Neelesh Maharaj chided Mr. Khade saying that, no such malpractice was there in Wari and many people who participate in Wari have improved their life; despite this by not taking any experience of the Wari yourself, how can you present such a ‘One act play’? A memorandum stating, that, if the presentation of this play was not stopped then the Samiti would start a serious agitation lawfully, was handed over to Khade, on behalf of HJS. Supekar Maharaj, Haribhaktaparayan Pravin Dahitule, Haribhaktaparayan Dnyaneswar Patil Maharaj, Mr. Sagar Chopdar, co-ordibanator, HJS, Navi Mumbai, Mr. Rajan Bhurke and Mr. Satish Kochrekar were present along with Warkaris in large numbers, at the meeting.

Principal Mrs. Tangam Ghule of Maharshi Vidyanand College, when contacted by Mr. Satish Kocharekar of HJS, invited HJS for a meeting on 2nd January at 11 a.m. to discuss the matter.

Degradation of Pandharpur Wari through the ‘One act play’

1. In one incident in the play it is shown that, a pimp sees a young girl of a lady and tries to misbehave with her out of lust. This incident conveys a wrong message to the society that the Wari is unsafe for young girls.
2. Warkris have a typical style of traditional dancing, but in the play it shown in the form modern dance, thus dishonouring the tradition.
3. The play shows women playing Phugdya (A type of dance); but no devotion for Deity Vitthal is experienced in it.
4. At the end of the ‘One act play, a Warkari is shown telling a young girl, “You have participated in the Wari for the first time, I have been coming every year for the last so many years. I experience the same thing every year.” (This is an attempt to dishonour Pandharpur’s Wari and Warkaris. Would Hindus take any step opposing this? – Editor SP)
