Anti-Superstitions Bill is for 'eradication of Hindu faith'

December 12, 2011
Margshirsh Krushna Dwitiya, Kaliyug Varsha 5113

Why is the government failing to give the exact number of crimes caused due to Anti-faith?

This bill has not come into existence out of need. We can for a moment think that crimes are committed due to Anti-faith. But this fact that Anti-faith hinders the working of the judiciary should be reported by the judicial department of the government, mediators/ counselors and the police department. How many crimes have been committed under this article, how many problems were faced due to Anti-faith in the investigations of crimes, how many obstacles were faced, how many cases were registered and how many criminals were set free due to errors in the law? Why does the government not provide all this information? Is it rational that for the past eight years even when discussions related to this topic are at the peak the government does not feel the need to give the related information? The government should also provide details of crimes related to murders, terrorist and naxalite attacks, violence resulted due to political and other reasons, encounter activities. When the government will provide these details then the masses will realize whether there is a need for such an act.

On one hand the government is cancelling acts like ‘POTA’ and on the other hand it is all set to pass unnecessary Anti-faith bills. One fails to understand the logic behind this. When the government says ‘Terrorism does not have any religion’ and is partial towards the Muslims it expects us to accept it without thinking. When I say ‘Crime cannot be categorized as faith and Anti-faith’ I sound childish. Is Hindu terrorism more dangerous than Muslim terrorism? The people in power and leaders are openly giving statements to this effect. Hence it is natural that the masses may feel that this proposed ‘Anti-faith bill’ will target the only Hindu religion. When the government says that such type of crimes have increased in the past 20-25 years, why then does it fail to provide the details?

The Anti-faith bill will prove a hurdle to faith too!

Shri. Nevgi has given an example to this effect. He quotes,’ An women who did not have any issues went to Narsoba wadi ( A pilgrimage centre in Maharashtra for Hindus) and circumambulated 108 times in nude around the Tulsi (Basil) plant. Instead of this, opinion and treatment of modern doctors would help her to bear children.’ Where is the crime in this incident? The answer seems to be that the crime is directing one to be nude at public place and behaving accordingly. As per the sections in this Act, if someone were to take objection then both the concerned women as well as the people directing her are liable to punishment. But here circumambulating the Basil plant, praying and going to a place of pilgrimage is a matter of faith. It is proved beyond doubt that faith aids to increase the spiritual as well as mental/ emotional energy. For example if one has faith on the modern doctors the medicine prescribed by them proves to be effective. Apart from this, the Basil plant possesses many medicinal qualities and circumambulating i.e. walking is one of the best exercises one can do. Now let us consider the issue of nudity. The Digambar Jains, Anand Margi, Naga Sadhus, Western Hippies and in many societies nudity is accepted as penance or philosophical practice or even as fundamental right to freedom.

Intellectuals need to study the opinions of other intellectuals in their respective fields!

Intellectual does not mean ‘believing only what one thinks’ but it means understanding the opinions and thoughts of others and allowing them to act according to their intellect. At this juncture, one does not consider the opinions and thoughts of babies or those who are mentally challenged. When an intellectual tries to enforce any act, it is certain that he has divorced his brains and become a dictator.
Banning religious activities/ activities of faith- what is Anti-faith according to religious point of view?  This issue needs to be discussed with people who are proficient in religious matters. The Chief Minister, other Ministers have given word to this effect to the Religious leaders as well as the Warkaris. If this promise is not acted upon there are sufficient grounds to believe that this bill has come forward due to hatred towards Hinduism. The Bill which could not get passed in the previous sessions had provisions to ban the ‘Santan Gopal Vrat.’ In the Dargah of Jaipur people tie threads to a wall wishing for issues. Such prayers take place even at the tomb of Afzalkhan or at the Mari-aai temple in Bandra. Now, Shri. Nevgi will say that no money is charged at these places. But one should take into account that the ‘Santan Gopal Vrat is to be performed by the husband and wife by worshipping an idol of Krushna placed in a swing in the altar. You don’t even need a pundit for this. So, it is clear that which religious activities will be thought of as crimes need to be very clearly explained in the sections and articles of the Bill. The intellectuals in the spiritual arena should be consulted for this.

The modern doctors have also realized the limitations of medical science and there is no option for spiritual as well as religious remedies! The opinion of Shri. Nevgi that ‘One does not get an issue by circumambulating the tulsi, instead one should consult the modern doctors and follow their treatment’ is true only to the extent of 30-35 percent. The reason being that the modern doctors themselves accept their success rate to be around 35 percent only. Some modern doctors themselves regularly perform pujas, japs/ chant the Lords name and even advise spiritual and religious remedies to their patients. Even in the Ayurveda, one finds religious and divine solutions to problems/ ailments.

Unnecessary interference of the atheists!

Even though Shri. Nevgi has said that Prof. Shyam Manav and the modern doctor Narendra Dabholkar have dedicated their lives to the campaign it does not entitle them to become experts to deliver their opinions. They both have been atheists and will continue to be so. They are not intellectuals. At the most they can be called as those who have become intellectuals just by reading.

The true / effective remedy for Anti-faith!

One cannot demolish violence by using a gun. It is not possible to stop intoxication by liquor by making Anti-intoxication acts. Similarly, to eradicate Anti-faith one should first condition his conduct according to faith and knowledge with intellect. After this, one should spread the real path of righteousness and good conduct. This is the only effective way to eradicate Anti-faith. This work needs to be done consistently.
This does not mean that those who commit heartless murders should not be convicted. On the other hand experts are of the opinion that in the existing laws are stricter and have greater provisions for punishments than those mentioned in the Anti-faith bill.

The Anti-faith committee who asks us to retire God and faith!

The atheist and ANS are of the opinion that Anti-faith is a psychological disorder. The roots of this disorder lie in Dharma and God is the source of Dharma. So, they demand that God and Dharma should be retired.

The proposed bill is based on the idea of opposing God and Dharma!

This bill is not against miracles or anisht traditions. It is basically against God and Dharma. Government and judiciary never have revenge as their objective. Three years back, Shyam Manav had stated that ‘once this bill becomes an act he will never allow Shri Sathya Sai Baba to step in Maharashtra.’ This is the dangerous motive of ANIS towards all Saints, Spiritually evolved souls and other respected personalities.

How the politicians view the increasing crimes!

When there is a bomb explosion and some citizens are killed, the home Minister himself says, ‘’in all big cities such small crimes/incidences keep on taking place!”
It is the need of the hour to oppose the Anti-social elements!

Under the guise of the ‘Anti-Faith’ bill people are being fooled. These are the people who belong to the category of those who venture to destroy the idol of God Himself in order to get rid of a scorpion who has been hiding under it. Such people who are out to destroy the society deserve to be declared as Anti-social elements.’
- Shri Shri Bhat, Dhanurdhari, July 2011

The people who condemn animal sacrifices in temples should dare to stop animal sacrifices taking place in hotels and slaughter houses!

The people who try to stop the negligent animal sacrifices in temples are like those who cut their fingers and call themselves revolutionaries who sacrificed their lives for the country. They are only creating hype out of nothing. They should concentrate on animal killings that take place in restaurants  of five star hotels, the  n- number of restaurants on streets, the hotels specially serving non-vegetarian food, Mac’ Donald’s’ outlets and Government slaughter houses. Will these so called social workers stop this animal slaughtering?

At the Devnar Slaughter house 20-25 thousand animals are killed every day. Has the media or the so called social workers done anything to stop this killing?

Why does the media never cover the activists who campaign against animal killing and slaughtering of cows? Why don’t they ever give publicity to people working for this cause?

Bakri-ID, slaughtering cows, slaughtering of pigs by Christians – all this should be stopped.

Will these reformers be able to stop animal slaughtering done by the elite class and the political leaders?

Animal slaughtering at all levels and in all religions should definitely be stopped. All animals deserve humane treatment. Then why target only hens and goats that are sacrificed in temples? Even cows, bulls, pigs, snakes and other animals should be saved.’

As one can see partial treatment in the above activities, there is enough scope to think that the motive in stopping animal sacrifices only in temples is not clean enough.
