Mulki (Karnataka): A huge meeting was held in the courtyard of the Bappanadu Sree Durga Parmeshvari temple in Mulki city to commemorate the death anniversary of Late Shri. Sukhanand Shetty who was gruesomely murdered by Muslims. Late Shri. Prem and Late Shri. Dinesh who were also killed in the firing were remembered by the 'Hindu Jagran Vedike'. A silent march was held from Gandhi Maidan to the Sree Durga Parmeshvari temple. Approximately 4500 Hindus from various parts participated in this programme. The holy men who graced the occasion with their presence were Vidyavallabh Srikshetra Ramanandswamiji of Kolya of the Udipi Kaniyuru Mutt, Srikshetra Ish Vitthaldas Swamiji of Kemar, Rajshekharanand Swamiji of the Gurupur Uppagodu Vrajadehi, Srikshetra Matandamayi of Vadiyuru and the Southern region convenor of the 'Hindu Jagran Vedike' Shri. Jagdish Karant. Addressing the gathering Shri. Satyajit Suratkal said, "Killing an individual does not kill his principles. The murder of Late Shri. Sukhanand is a warning for us."
Shri. Jagdish Karant said, "We lost three patriots on one day. Such incidents have been occurring in this region for the past decade. We have gathered here today not to grieve for them but to complete the mission that these patriots had begun. We need to prepare ourselves for the critical times to come. After the September 11 attacks in the US, President Bush ordered the closure of madarsas and masjids in Pakistan. As a result their mullas and maulavis (priests) moved southwards to the unfenced Indian border through which terrorists infiltrate the country easily. This is quite obvious from the fact that terrorists are being arrested in various parts of the country. The only objective behind murdering patriots is 'Islamisation of the entire country' but we shall never allow them to achieve this goal. The meeting ended with singing of 'Vande Mataram'. (If a Muslim was even scratched by a Hindu, by accident then Muslims all over the country would have started rioting. It is because Hindus are too tolerant that these loquacious Muslims with the blessings of politicians dare to attack them. If we wish to change this scenario then a religious revolt is the need of the hour, this is the absolute truth! If Muslims proclaim that Islam is in danger then lakhs of their brethren unite. On the contrary, only 4500 Hindus gathered to offer homage to staunch Hindu protagonists who became martyrs for Hinduism. Is this not indicative of the deteriorating state of Hinduism? India is the only country in the world which has not sealed its borders with a fence, it is the land of incompetent politicians belonging to all political parties! – Editor)

Muslims ploy to eliminate staunch Hindu leaders in Karnataka
Mangalore: After the murder of staunch Hindu leader Shri. Sukhanand Shetty, there has been atmosphere of terror in the State of Karnataka. The police have so far nabbed 9 persons in connection with the killing, out of them 3 are directly connected to the crime and all 9 persons are Muslims. It has been unearthed in the police interrogations that a Muslim mafia has made a plan to eliminate all Hindu leaders in Karnataka. A list of Hindu leaders has been obtained by the police. It has also been learnt that a Muslim goon named Maduru Isubu has collected over a crore of rupees from various Muslim businessmen to execute the plan.

Violence breaks out in Mulki - two reported killed in police firing
Mulki (Maharashtra): Mulki remains peaceful after instances of violence from Friday. In Kulai the murder of BJP Mulki unit General Secretary Sukhanand Shetty (32) and the death of two persons in police firing remained calm on Saturday.
ADGP Shankar Bidari who arrived at Mangalore visited the persons injured in the violence. Speaking to the media, he said that the wrong doers will be brought to book. As many as 20 persons have been arrested in connection with the violence, he said. The curfew will be in force till December 4. However regular plying of buses has not resumed which has affected normal life.

Mangalore: Shri. Sukhanand Shetty, a BJP leader known for his intense hinduism was brutally killed. He was struck with sword by a few anti-Hindu persons. Shri. Shetty had gone to a place called Kulai when he was followed in a 'Qualis' car. Four assailants ran away from the spot after striking him with sword on his head and cutting his hands. He died on the way when he was being rushed to a nearby private hospital. The car used by assailants with registration in Tamil Nadu State was later found by the police outside Mangalore city.
A few days ago at Bajape, Mangalore, in an immersion procession of Sree Sharada Devi, a few Muslims had raised objection to one of the 'floats'. About 500 armed Muslims had come out of a mosque and had stopped the procession creating a huge uproar. As a result, police did not allow carrying on the procession and immersing the idol on that day. On the next day, Shri. Sukhanand Shetty collected 6000 Hindus and took out a huge procession and immersed the idol. On the same night, an attempt was made on his life at Mulki but it was not successful. On the following day as the news of attack on him spread, there were riots between Hindu and Muslims at Bajape. It is said that Shri. Shetty was murdered as a consequence of the riots.
Shri Sukhanand Shetty was an active worker of BJP from Mulki and Mudbidre area in Karnataka State. He was known for his strong Hindu inclination. There was tension in the area after his killing and a 'bandh' was observed.

In the Guru-Pournima function held at Mulki in July 2006, Shri Shetty was the chief guest. He had given a speech on 'Blows to Hindu religion and Need for Awareness among Hindus'. There was a live transmission of his speech on local TV. He was a subscriber and regular reader of 'Sanatan Prabhat'. Just two days back, he had told HJS activist and Sanatan Sanstha's seekers who had gone to meet him that henceforth; there would be active participation in all programs by him. He gave full support to all activities of HJS and Sanatan Sanstha.
