Devotees should not tolerate insult of Shri Datta ! Join HJS' lawful agitation !
Owing to lack of respect towards own Dharma and in the name of freedom of expression, denigration of Hindu Deities is taking place; will those responsible for such denigration dare to ridicule worshipped objects of followers of Islam or Christianity ?

Kalyan (Maharashtra): In Marathi film ‘Deool’, there is a song ‘Phoda Datta naam taaho….’ denigrating Shri Datta. Dr. Upendra Dahake, the President of BJP’s medical front for Kalyan organized display of ‘flex’ boards in different parts of Kalyan against the film creating awareness among people about the denigration. The ‘flex’ boards have been put up outside ‘Joker’ theatre, Shivaji Chowk, Sahajanand Chowk, Sridevi Hospital etc. (Will Hindus from other places learn something from Dr. Dahake, the President of BJP’s Medical- Front who has raised his voice against denigration of Deities ? – Editor SP)
The words from the denigrating song ‘Phoda Datta naam taho…’ have been given and an appeal has been made to people to condemn such denigration and boycott the film through the display boards. The contact numbers of Censor Board and address have also been written on the boards. This has created lot of awareness among residents of Kalyan and they are opposing denigration.

Dhule (Maharashtra): There is denigration of Shri Datta in a song from Marathi film ‘Deool’ released on 4th November 2011. This denigration has hurt religious sentiments of Hindus and this song should be omitted from the film. The above demand was made in a representation submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to the Superintendent of Police at Dhule.
Mr. Dinesh Kale of Swami Samartha Sect, Mr. Hemant Vispute, the trustee of Jamangiri Datta Mandir, Mr. Mahalkar, trustee of Devpur Datta Mandir and devout Hindus from Nardana, Dhule etc. besides Mr. Pankaj Bagul of HJS were present on the occasion.

Police initially avoid accepting the representation
Pune (Maharashtra): A representation was submitted by pro-Hindu activists yesterday to Fauzdar Kapase of Abhiruchi Police Chowki protesting against the denigrating song on Sri Dattaguru in Marathi film ‘Deul’. Initially Kapase refused to accept it and asked the activists to give it to the Superintendent of Police; but at the insistence of pro-Hindu activists, he, later, accepted the same. (Avoid accepting representation is against the Indian Constitution and is injustice to the complainant. Devout Hindus should make a note of such police with such mentality ! – Editor SP) He refused to even clicking a photograph while accepting the representation. Mr. Sunil Deshmukh of Shiv Sena, Mr. Shailesh Kadam, Karale, Rhushikesh Mahamuni of Sree Shiva-pratishthan, Mr. Bodhe of BJP, Mr. Mahendra Ahire and Anil Tambaki of HJS were present on the occasion. He promised to send the representation to his seniors for necessary action.
HJS submits representation to theatre manager

Mumbai: Many theatre managers and owners from Mumbai gave a promise to HJS members that the song from film ‘Deool’ denigrating Shri Datta would be dropped from the film. HJS activists had explained to them about denigration of Hindu Deities. HJS members create awareness among the viewers by holding peaceful demonstrations outside the theatres; but police refuse to grant them permission for the same.
Feedbacks of theatre owners and managers
Vashi : When a representation was given to Mr. Vishwas , the manager of ‘Megharaj’ theatre, he said, “If there is such objectionable song in the film, we will release the film after removing the song.”
Kharghar : Mr. Sanjay Kulkarni, the owner of ‘Max Cinema’ said, “We will tell the main distributors and remove the song. If they do not remove the song, we shall not release the film.”
Ghatkopar : The Manager of ‘Shreyas’ theatre said, “It is wrong to show such denigrating song in theatre.”
Dadar (W) : As he received the representation from HJS, manager of ‘Plaza’ theatre, Mr. Yogesh More immediately called up Mr. Nitin Vaidya, the executive producer and Mr. Umesh Kulkarni, director of the film and asked them to omit the song. He also told them that if there was such denigrating song, film would be released after deleting the song.
Dadar (East) : Manager Kamat of Premier theatre said on receiving the representation, “How the film producer does not realize that Hindu Deities are denigrated through songs despite being Hindu? When denigration of Prophet Mohammad had occurred in Denmark, thousands of Muslims had gathered on Azad Maidan to oppose. We will make maximum efforts that we can in this connection.”
Bhoiwada Police Station also refused permission to hold demonstrations and issued a notice under Sec. 149 to HJS activists. Police stations from Dadar (West) and Shivaji Park too denied permission for demonstrations.

Mumbai: Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) does not oppose the Marathi film ‘Deool’; but opposes the song ‘Phoda Datta naam taho…’ in this film. The effect of this song will remain for a long time and denigration of Shri Dattaguru will continue to take place. HJS is, therefore, opposing this song, explained Mr. Ramesh Shinde, the spokesperson of HJS for the States of Maharashtra and Gujarat on IBN Lokmat news channel in a discussion program titled ‘Aaj cha Sawaal’. The discussions were held on the question ‘Is the opposition of HJS to the film ‘Deool’ is right?’ Mr. Umesh Kulkarni, the director of the film, writer and actor Girish Kulkarni, actor Dilip Prabhavalkar and film producer and writer Shrirang Godbole took part in the program.
Ramesh Shinde said, “The subject of the film may be right, awareness created thro’ the same may also be right but the damage, harm caused through the song is wrong. The song may come with some reference in the film but it will be played everywhere later which will have no reference with the film; therefore, we oppose this song.”
An incident of Swami Vivekananda with reference to religious sentiments
While giving an example Mr. Shinde said, “A ‘jidnyasu (curious)’ had asked a question to Swami Vivekananda about religious sentiments. In his reply Swamiji had said, “You remove the photograph of your ancestor and put it on the floor. Is it ok if I spit on it? The ‘jidnyasu’ said, No to that. Then Swamiji said, “We are so alert about our feelings for someone from the house; similarly, we are alert towards our sentiments for Deities.”
Art is not for hurting religious sentiments of others
The famous litterateur Ram Shevalkar has said that art should have freedom; but it should not be presented by hurting religious sentiments of others. The good activities undertaken by HJS are not publicized. HJS is always brought forth when there is dispute. When it undertakes very good drives we are ignored which is very unfortunate. We have been opposing commercialization of ‘Ganeshotsava’ for the past 8 years; we have also made efforts for pollution-free celebration of Ganesha festival. We have distributed hundreds of pollution-free idols to people. We have been trying to prevent malpractices taking place during Ganeshotsava. Many Ganeshotsava Committees have taken note of our efforts and have carried out changes in their way of celebration. During Diwali also, we undertook a campaign for pollution free celebrations; but it is unfortunate that nobody asks us about such programs.
Corruption in temple management opposed in lawful manner
Our member had lodged a complaint 5 years back against corruption in management of Pandharpur temple Trust. The complaint is still there but no action has been taken so far. We have obtained information under RTI about the malpractices by trustees in managing the temple. We were holding demonstrations for 1-1/2 years against corruption in management of Siddhivinayak temple on every Tuesday; but nobody took notice. We opposed for two days against meeting of Siddhivinayak Trust held in a 7-Star hotel; that time too, nobody came to us. We have protested even against Shirdi temple trust.
Why religious sentiments of Hindus are taken for granted?
Why religious sentiments of Hindus are always taken for granted? First we had approached Censor Board where its officer Mr. Jitendraprasad Singh told us that it was a mistake on their part. How can Censor Board commit such mistake? There was denigration of Deities even in films like ‘Dev kari love’, ‘Gallit gondhal, Dillit mujra’, ‘Shahanpan Dega Deva’ etc. It is not that corruption takes place only in Hindu temples but it happens also in mosques or in church; but we do not feel anything about it. Censor Board also takes religious sentiments of Hindus for granted but takes good care of feelings of followers of other religions.
Different inference should not be drawn based on sound and scene ! – Umesh Kulkarni
A film is made with the help of both sound and scene effects which are related; therefore, they should not be treated separately. One should not deduce only on the basis of sound; but one should see even the scenes before taking decisions.”
There is no denigration of Deities ! – Girish Kulkarni
We have not denigrated, criticized, or ridiculed our Deities in this film in any manner. The film is in fact made to warn people to keep away from those who indulge in such denigration.
There is no denigration of Shri Dattaguru in the song ! – Shrirang Godbole
No denigration of Shri Dattaguru has taken place through this song. It is a song that creates awareness among people about commercialization of faith. Shri Dattaguru is worshipped even by the writer and director of this film. How can one make mockery of our own seats of worship? When some believer is making such kind of song that means there is definitely some good purpose behind the same. To say that such song is made to market the film is like hurting his feelings, isn’t it?
Intellectual insolvency of Nikhil Wagle : should God not love?
The program host Nikhil Wagle said on a statement made by Mr. Ramesh Shinde about opposing the film ‘Dev kari love’, ‘Should God not love?’ Mr. Shinde said that it was shown in the film that Lord Vitthal had come on the earth and having ‘Vada-paav’. Shrirang Godbole, however, supported this denigration.

Issue of taking activists into custody despite their holding agitation in lawful manner !
Sangli (Maharashtra): Seven activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) were taken into custody, although agitating in peaceful manner to protest against denigration of Deities in Marathi film ‘Deool’. They were also threatened by the police from New Panvel to put them behind bars; which is most improper. This is the Mughal regime of Congress Government. It is a very serious matter and will be brought up in the session of Legislative Assembly, stated BJP MLA, Mr. Sambhaji Pawar.
Mr. Pawar got all the facts about the film and expressed anger over denigration in films. He also asked that with such serious denigration, how the Censor Board granted permission. ‘Denigration of Hindu Deities, their seats of worship is always taking place through films, advertisements etc. The Government should pass stringent laws to prevent such denigrations. I will raise voice for this, promised Mr. Pawar.

They also said that they would be informing the distributors of the film that the local residents were against the song.”
The manager of ‘Samartha’ theatre said that the song was shown in the film by keeping the voice on ‘mute’; it was conveyed to the seniors that there was pressure from the people opposing the song.
New Mumbai : Megharaj theatre owner decided to stop release of the film and cancelled all shows of the film.
Thane : Positive response from theatre owners; but the song is yet to be cut from the film. Representations were submitted to Naupada Police Station, Kapurbawadi Police Station and owners of theatres like ‘Eternity Multiplex’, ‘Ganesh’, ‘Koram Mall’, ‘Cinemax’ etc. They promised to have discussions with HJS and take a decision on showing of the film. ‘Ganesh’ theatre owner said that if such instruction was received from the police, the film would not be shown.
HJS activists issued notice under sec. 149 by police !
Senior police inspector of Naupada Police Station issued a notice to HJS activists under sec. 149 and warned them that if demonstrations were, cognizable offence would be registered against them. Once Censor certificate is issued to the film, police cannot do anything under the law. Mr. Vasudev Bhoir, the former municipal councilor of Shiv Sena extended full cooperation to HJS activists and assured them to extend help even in future if told in advance.
Representation by BJP
Mr. Ajay Sambhus of HJS and Dr. Upendra Dahake of BJP’s medical front gave separate representations opposing denigration in the film. Mr. Pramod Joshi of ‘All India Hindu Mahasabha’ joined HJS for submitting representation. Dr. Dahake gave representation along with his party members to theatre owners of ‘Bhanusagar’ , ‘Joker’ etc. as also to Deputy Police Commissioner and reporters.
Similarly, representations were given to Ramnagar Police Station at Dombivali, owner of ‘Tilak’ theatre and owners of ‘Anil’ and ‘Ashok’ theaters in Ulhasnagar.
Mumbai: At Parle, demonstrations were held by about 45 HJS activists outside ‘Sun city’ theatre. Few pro-Hindu activists were also present on the occasion. Yesterday, the police had denied permission to hold demonstrations near two theatres in Dadar.
Nashik : Representations were given to theatre owners of ‘Divya Adlab’, ‘Fame’, ‘Vikas’, ‘Cinemax’ and ‘City Centre’ . All the managers responded positively and assured to convey people’s feelings to the director of the film. HJS submitted a copy of the representation to the Upper District Collector Mr. Game.
Sambhajinagar : Mr. Shaukat, the Distributor of the film for Sambhajinagar assured that the song would be omitted in the night show. Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar was given representation by HJS. He said that proper decision would be taken on the representation demanding omission of the denigrating portion from the film. Representations were submitted to managers of theatres viz. ‘Big Cinema’, ‘Abhinay’, ‘Nupur’, ‘PVR’, ‘Satyam’ and ‘Tapadia Fame’.
Ratnagiri, Pune, Jalgaon, Amaravati: It has been planned to meet the theatre managers and create awareness among them by giving representation.
Panvel : Members of HJS were staging agitation outside ‘Apana Cinema’ in Khanda Colony area in peaceful and lawful manner; but police took them into custody and took them to Kalamboli police station. Police threatened women activists and took down their names and addresses. Women activists were put in the van when they asked the lady-police constable the reason, the police very rudely replied that they were not aware of the reason and the ‘boss’ would come and see what to do. The women activists were also told that if they talked unnecessarily, they would be imprisoned. (Inform names of such police. – Editor SP) Police turned the display board held by the activists upside down. Yesterday, the police had extended permission to hold demonstrations and the activists had such written proof with them. (How can police arrest activists when they had only granted permission? – Editor SP) Later, the theatre was provided security by the police.
HJS activists held demonstrations outside ‘Cineraj’ theatre and created awareness among people. The first show was cancelled by the owner. It was observed that many viewers were ignorant about the issue. After listening to HJS activists, many viewers responded positively and left the theatre without watching the film. (Congratulations to devout Hindus who, although went for watching the film, turned their back to the film on learning about denigration ! – Editor SP)

Mumbai: Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has started a movement against Marathi film ‘Deool’ produced under the banner of ‘Devisha Films’ by Abhijit Gholap and directed by Umesh Kulkarni for denigrating ‘Shri Datta’ through a song in this film. The film will be released on 4th November. The denigration in the song has hurt religious sentiments of Hindus and delegation of HJS held discussions with Censor Board in the matter. (In the first place, Censor Board’s granting permission to this song shows that nobody is bothered about religious sentiments of Hindus and suggests that Hindus are tolerant; therefore, there is no value to their feelings. Will the Censor Board be so careless about feelings of followers of other religions? – Editor SP)
Mrs. Varsha Thakar and Smt. Bharati Berde of HJS met Mr. Jitendra Pratap Singh, Regional Officer of Censor Board today in his office and submitted a representation mentioning that the denigration of Shri Datta should be stopped immediately. They also informed him that followers of Datta Sect were in touch with Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and brought to his notice that all Datta- devotees were enraged. Mr. Singh accepted the mistake and said that the matter must have been inadvertently overlooked. He said, “The film was seen by 4 Marathi Hindu officers who granted approval on behalf of the Board. (Officers, who granted permission to such unrighteous song, are Hindus only by birth. This is the effect of lack of ‘Dharmashikshan’ among Hindus. Pro-Hindu organizations protest against denigration of Hindu Deities taking place so often in the films and give hundreds of representations to the Government; but the Censor Board is not paying attention to the objections. Is it because Hindus do not go to extreme and become aggressive like followers of other religions? – Editor SP) Mrs. Thakar showed the news published in ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ on the topic when Mr. Singh assured her to take immediate action by contacting the producers and asking them to remove the controversial song. He also thanked Mrs. Thakar for bringing the mistake to the notice of Censor Board.
Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the district-coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad called up Mrs. Vidya Charvak, the Central Censor Board officer and asked, “HJS had submitted a representation in your office to cancel the certificate granted to the above film or to omit the denigration of Shri Datta and the controversial part. Today in the morning, the zonal officer Mr. Singh has promised our delegation to omit the objectionable song from the film immediately. Has any action been taken on the same?” Mrs. Charvak said, “There is some procedure involved in the work.” Mr. Vatkar said, “This film is being released on 4th November; therefore, action should be taken urgently. All Datta-devotees and devout Hindus have opposed this song.”
IBN Lokmat news channel telecast news about HJS opposition to a song from film ‘Deool’.
Smt. Pai, an activist of HJS contacted Mr. Umesh Kulkarni and registered her protest when he said, “We have tried to show quackery through this.” (How can a devotee of Datta tolerate the words and meaning projected through this song irrespective of what was the reason behind showing this? The so-called intellectuals have branded the concept of devotion as quackery, superstitions etc. Devout Hindus and Datta-devotees should oppose these intellectuals in lawful manner at ideological level ! – Editor SP)
Promise to omit the denigrating song from film ‘Deool’ by manager of ‘Swarup’ and ‘Pratap Chitramandir’ to HJS
Sangli – Activists of HJS visited managers of different theatres and submitted a representation to them. Mr. Haribhau Kulkarni, Manager of ‘Swarup’ and ‘Pratap’ theatres promised HJS to omit the denigrating song; whereas Mr. Ravi Honwad, Operation Supervisor of ‘Multiplex’ assured to inform the matter to the head office urgently on receiving the representation.
Mr. Sachin Pawar, Avinash Sawant of Sri Shiva-pratishthan and Mr. Dattatreya Retharekar of HJS were present on the occasion. Shri. Keshavnath Maharaj, the Priest of Datta Mandir at Zilha Parishad was explained the topic when he put up a copy of representation outside the temple for people to read and showed readiness to join HJS activists in their drive.
Response of Mr. Shivaji Vatkar on IBN Lokmat channel : HJS will oppose in lawful manner
Mr. Shivaji Vatkar of HJS said on IBN Lokmat News channel, “Denigration of Shri Datta in a song from Marathi film ‘Deool’ has hurt our religious sentiments as also of Datta-devotees. We have, therefore, given a representation to the zonal officer of Censor Board who has promised us to get the song withdrawn from the film. If it is observed that the denigration was not omitted after release of the film, HJS will oppose it in lawful manner by staging demonstrations and creating awareness among people.”

Mumbai: There is a song with lyrics as ‘Phoda Datta naam Taaho….’ in a Marathi film titled ‘Deool’ produced by Abhijit Gholap. There is extreme denigration of Shri Datta worshipped by all Hindus in this song which has hurt religious sentiments of every Hindu and devotees of Shri Datta and a wave of displeasure has been generated against this film. (This is the adverse effect of lack of Dharmashikshan among Hindus. Hindus are over tolerant; therefore, anyone and everyone is making mockery of their Deities and objects of worship. The principle of sound, touch, form, smell etc. is uniform everywhere. Accordingly, wherever there is name of Deity, the presence of that Deity is also there. Hindus, who have no knowledge of devotion, spirituality or manner of worship, make mockery of Deities through film songs to popularize their films. They will have to face wrath of Shri Datta ! – Editor SP) A representation has been submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to the Central Board of Film Certification to cancel certificate issued to the above film.
Mr. Umesh Kulkarni has directed the film ‘Deool’ produced by ‘Devisha Films’. The film will be released on 4th November 2011 and has a song based on western beats involving grave denigration of Shri Datta. A case can be filed against the producer and strong opposition by Hindus can create tension, therefore, a demand has been made by HJS that the producer should be asked to remove the controversial song denigrating Shri Datta from the film before its release on 4th November and certificate issued to the film should be withdrawn. HJS has made an appeal to all Hindus to boycott the film.
Some of the denigrating lines from the song are given below :
‘Phoda Datta Naam Taaho ….
1. Showing Datta, darling Datta, samruddhi che parking Datta, maryaade che marking Datta, Marvelous Datta, Hi Hi Datta, Hi kiti Hi fi Datta
2. Ek Hammaa chaar doggy, dokyaamage vartul foggy, andha pangu maharogi, whaal takaatak jaagachyaa jaagi, three-way facing, Deool Deool, Moti Singh la sola triple sphurti
3. Magel tyalaa milel Datta, Retail madhe wholesale Datta, Karaal tumhi social Datta, paap sagali dhosel Datta
4. Trilokaalaa posel Datta, Zopaa tumhi jaagel Datta, padopadi laagel Datta, bhook bhaagel Datta, Everybody Datta Datta, Say loud Datta Datta, Datta Datta ……..
5. Kopel Datta, Vaatet tulaa ghaalel Datta, Adakun jail file Datta, career full-to spoil Datta

Theatre owners should not stop at just omitting the song denigrating Sri Datta; but should show so much ‘Dharmabhiman’ to cancel shows of the film and teach a lesson to anti-Hindu producers !
Many theatre owners agreed to screen the film after omitting the song owing to the appeal made by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). This will, however, not cause any financial pinch to the producers and they will once again get ready to make mockery of seats of worship of Hindus; therefore, the only solution is that the theatre owners did not screen the film at all. If they show such ‘Dharmabhiman’, it will cause financial loss to the producers and then they will see sense.

Initially Kapase refused to accept it and asked the activists to give it to the Superintendent of Police; but at the insistence of pro-Hindu activists, he, later, accepted the same. Devout Hindus should make a note of such police with such mentality ! – Editor SP) He refused to even clicking a photograph while accepting the representation. Managers and owners of theatres in Mumbai promise to omit the denigrating song !
November 6, 2011Kartik Shukla 11, Kaliyug Varsha 5113
Instructions to refuse permission for demonstrations has been received from ‘top’ – Local senior police inspector
Ghatkopar (Mumbai) – Police granted permission to hold demonstrations; but senior police inspector said, “We have received instructions from ‘top’” and he did not allow HJS to stage demonstrations.Bhoiwada Police Station also refused permission to hold demonstrations and issued a notice under Sec. 149 to HJS activists. Opposition is not for the film but for the far reaching effect of denigrating song ! – HJS
Discussion program held on IBN Lokmat news channel on song denigrating Shri Datta from the film ‘Deool’November 6, 2011
Kartik Shukla 11, Kaliyug Varsha 5113
Actor Girish Kulkarni, in a way accepted that there was denigration in the song
Actor Girish Kulkarni said, “The song is appropriate in the film as there is a reference to it; but I hope that nobody would play this song on Datta-Jayanti because viewer of the film should have that much understanding. (The statement made by Mr. Kulkarni shows that there is denigration of Shri Dattaguru in this song ! – Editor SP) Such type of denigration takes place when songs on Deities are made on the tune of Bollywood songs. There is denigration in the procession taken out during Ganesha festival which is ignored and only films are targeted as it is easy to do so.”Source: Daily Sanatan Prabhat
Police bullying to be brought up in Legislative Assembly ! – MLA Sambhaji Pawar
November 6, 2011Kartik Shukla 11, Kaliyug Varsha 5113
Pawar.

Police action against HJS activists despite taking prior permission
Panvel police threaten activists of arrestPanvel : Members of HJS were staging agitation outside ‘Apana Cinema’ in Khanda Colony area in peaceful and lawful manner; but police took them into custody and took them to Kalamboli police station. HJS holds discussions with Censor Board !
November 3, 2011Kartik Shukla 8, Kaliyug Varsha 5113

Protest extreme denigration of Shri Datta in Marathi movie 'Deool'
November 2, 2011Kartik Shukla 7, Kaliyug Varsha 5113
