With Deputy District Collector like Dasharath Redkar, who acted promptly to remove obscene advertisement hoarding, the day of establishment of Hindu Nation is not far !

Mapusa (Goa): The movement undertaken by ‘Ranaragini’ and other women’s organizations all throughout the State against indecent advertisement hoardings is gaining success. Yesterday, Deputy District Collector (DDC) Mr. Dasharath Redkar of Bardesh taluka, held a meeting with officers of Mapusa Municipality and Mapusa police on this subject and issued orders to officers from Municipality and Police department to take action against such obscene advertising boards by 26th September.

It was then observed that a big hoarding displayed near Sri Bodageshwar Temple on Mapusa – Panaji Highway was painted with white paint so as to hide obscenity. Although it was not clear as to who painted the hoarding with white paint but the Government officers were of the view that those who had put up the hoarding must have done so. DDC Mr. Redkar had instructed the municipal and police officers in a meeting held day before yesterday to contact those who had displayed such hoardings and remove the hoardings. It was later observed that white paint was smeared on the hoarding to cover its obscenity. Although the picture on the hoarding has become light, the obscenity in the picture was clearly seen. (People should follow up the matter by painting the hoarding till the advertisement becomes invisible; only then, the goal of the movement will be achieved. – Editor SP) There are still hoardings displayed in Mapusa area spreading obscenity and no action has been taken against them. ‘Ranaragini’ and other women organizations have warned DDC Mr. Redkar to start agitation if the indecent advertisement hoardings were not removed before 28th September i.e. before beginning of Navaratri Festival.

Hindus should express gratitude to God for this success ! Continue the movement till all the indecent hoardings in Goa are removed !

Mapusa: Representatives of ‘Ranaragini’ wing of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), ‘Bailancho Saad’, ‘Sanatan Sanstha’, women self-help groups etc have warned Mapusa municipal council and Dycoll. of Bardez taluka that if vulgar hoardings and advertisment boards at the market place and along the roadside are not removed before the beginning of the ‘Navratri Festival (Ghatsthapana) that is before 28th September then they would start agitation. The said warning was given through memorandum submitted to Deputy Collector of Bardez Taluka, Shri. Dasharath Redkar; Chairperson of Mapusa Municipal council, Shri. Ashish Shirodkar and Chief Officer of Municipality Shri. Damodar Morajkar. More than 40 women were present while handing over the memorandum.

Mrs. Nita Kandolkar, ex. Z.P. member;  Mrs. Amita Korgaokar, member of Kanka-Verla Panchayat; Mrs. Rajashri Gadekar of ‘Ranaragini’; Mrs. Vishakha Mhambre of HJS, Mrs. Kranti Korgaokar of Sanatan Sanstha, Mrs. Suman Naik of ‘Bailancho Saad’, so also 6 office bearers of self-help groups were the prominent members present to give the memorandum. Assurance of removing the hoardings immediately was given by the Dycoll. Mr. Redkar. He said, he will try his best to remove the vulgar hoardings. He is also going to call a meeting of all the Panchayats of Bardez Taluka to instruct them to remove the said hoardings.” It is mentioned in the memorandum that, “The land of Goa is famous as land of Sree Parsuram; but now there is an attempt to make it a land of enjoyment (Bhogbhumi). Sentiments of women are hurt by those obscene advertisements. It is a crime to hurt others feelings. ‘Navratri’ is a symbolic representation of the ‘Energy of women’ and hence it is being worshipped. It is a paradox that on one side we worship the ‘Energy of women’ and on the other side we exhibit obscene pictures of women. So we demand an action on the obscene hoardings before the commencing of ‘Navratri’ festival.”
