Mumbai: When India got freedom, the dispute of Jammu and Kashmir started and it was taken to United Nations (UN). This dispute is still pending; however, it was decided in the UN meeting that the above State should be shown in the map of India and such map has been accepted. Even then, many countries show map of India by omitting different parts like the State of Jammu and Kashmir or, part of Arunachal Pradesh etc. and the rulers are just not concerned about it and therefore, Indians like us have to stage agitation for preventing distortion of our map by others. This is very unfortunate and painful. The above statement was made by Mr. Ramesh Shinde, the spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in the press conference held here. HJS held press conference to register protest against omission of certain parts of Indian territory like States of Jammu and Kashmir and part of Arunachal Pradesh, Lakshadweep etc. from the map of India. Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the district coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad made the introduction of the subject and Mr. Yadnesh Sawant of HJS website showed the distortion of map by ‘Google’ directly on his laptop.

Mr. Shinde said, “The Government is indifferent on this very serious matter. The rulers are so stuck in corruption that they are not bothered about the distortion of Indian boundaries taking place at international level. The so-called social worker Arundhati Roy had said earlier that Kashmir was not a part of India. She was then admonished by Judge Mr. Roy of Delhi High Court. He had said, “It is inevitable to file a case against those who make such inauspicious remarks about Indian boundaries.” Now ‘Google’ has played with the boundaries of this country in perverted manner; so why a case can’t be filed against them? The boundaries of our country have to be drawn properly and respectfully.

Earlier this website had omitted Tibet from the map of China for which China had imposed ban on this website.  The website then surrendered to China and carried out corrections in the map; but Indian Government is sitting tight; therefore, HJS has started this agitation and today demonstrations were held in front of the office of this website in Mumbai.

A movement has also been started on the website of HJS and 3500 patriotic citizens have joined the movement and sent letters to ‘Google’ in only 1-1/2 days from all over the world. HJS has also sent a letter to ‘Google’ on 25th May demanding to stop distortion of map of India. HJS has sent applications to senior police inspector of Cyber Cell, Central Home Minister and Home Minister of the State Government. Few patriotic citizens have lodged complaints at their personal level at some police stations in New Mumbai, Panvel etc. HJS will continue its fight till ‘Google’ does not stop distortion of the map of India.”
