HJS submit memorandum to all party MLAs against Anti-Superstitions Act

Mumbai: A memorandum demanding cancellation of the proposed Anti-Superstitions Act was presented on behalf of HJS to MLAs from Shiv Sena, BJP, MNS, Congress and NCP. The Samiti representing group involved Mumbai, Thane and Raigad district coordinator Mr. Shivaji Vatkar and other activists. Among the MLAs present were Shiv Sena’s Mr. Vinod Ghosalkar, Mr. Dyanaraj Chougule, Mr. Eknath Shinde, Mr. Sureshdada Jain, Mr. Prakash Sawant, Mr. Vivek Pandit and Dr. Neelam Gore, BJP’s Mr. Girish Bapat, Mr. Vinod Tavde, Mr. Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Mr. Prakash Mehta, Mr. Sanjay Kelkar and Dr. Sanjay Kute, MNS’ Dr. Uttamrao Dhikle, Congress MLAs Mr. Mohan Joshi and Mr. Prashant Thakur, Nationalist Congress leader and Vice Chief Minister Mr. Ajit Pawar and MLA Mr. Shashikant Shinde. These MLA’s were handed over the memorandum by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. The new law has a number of shortcomings and serious mistakes. Hence if it is sanctioned it can create a serious situation. The Samiti also told the MLAs that since the present law on blind faith is self-sufficient there is no need for a new law.

At this time the all party MLAs also assured the Samiti that they will take into consideration the seriousness of the situation while making changes to the law and ensure that there will be no restrictions on Dharma. MLAs from the opposition said that they will strongly oppose this law. At this time the Shiv Sena MLAs realizing the seriousness of the law presented a memorandum to Mr. Vijay Joshi, Secretary of Shiv Sena part office in the Secretariat.
