Bangalore (Karnataka):  Hindu Janajagruti Samiti organised a protest against introduction of the ‘Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowment Act 2011’ by the State Government and thereby making Political interference in Hindu Temples and Religious Affairs at Town Hall in Bangalore between 11am and 1 P.M today.

Mr. Chandra Moger, Coordinator HJS Bangalore, explained the ill effects of Bill on Hindus and how the Karnataka Government is through its action showing Anti Hindu attitude and trying to divide Hindus by excluding Jains, Buddhists, and Sikhs from the purview of this Bill. He added that all Hindus should unite to oppose this Bill and appeal to Governor not to sign it. Slogans were raised against the Bill and the Governments’ Anti Hindu stance.

Pamphlets were distributed to people to brief them about the bill. More than 60 People including children, Senior Citizens, large number of women participated in protest. Mr. Nagaraj Naidu, Vice President of Sri Ram Sene; Mr. Purushotham, Founder President of Kannada Paksha; Mr. Manjunatha, Secretary of MICO Kannada Association; Mr. Muddhukumar, Secretary, Sri Mahalakshmi Temple, Sudhamnagar; Mr. Nagaraj, Trustee, Vasantha Vallabha Temple, Vasanthapura; Adv. Devadas were some of the main participants.

Later the Police Hoysala van took the delegation led by Mr. Chandra Moger to the Raj Bhavan where a memorandum was submitted to the Governor not to give concurrence to the Bill.

Highlights:

1. Near by there was a group of auto drivers protesting for their demands. But unable to bear the scorching heat of the sun, most of them started leaving the venue. The leader had to call them back and told them that even ladies and small children were protesting with full of energy for Hindu Dharma by aside while you being men are running away from the scene. (It highlighted that God helps those who fight for the cause of Dharma)
2. There were 6 children and more than equal number of senior citizens in the protest.
3. The local TV and Press media gave good coverage to the protest in spite of limitations of space due to Mahaveer Jayanti.
