Shows of anti-Hindu film stopped in Balkrushna Theatre at Belgaum

Belgaum (Karnataka) : An anti-Hindu English film titled ‘Guru’ was being screened at Balkrushna Theatre. Owing to the efforts of 25 activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) attending ‘Dharma-satsangs’ viz. Mr. Vishwas Badmannache, Mr. Atul Katkar, Mr. Surya Lohar, Mr. Mahadeo Lohar etc., the management of the theatre had to stop screening of the film. In this film, the hero, wearing saffron robes, is shown as dancing with half-clad young women. There is distortion of the word ‘Guru’ which is a seat of reverence for the Hindus, in the whole film. HJS activists went to the theatre on Sunday when they came to know about it. Mr. Vilas Jagtap, the manager of the theatre said, “I know it is wrong. I am also a Hindu. This film was shown only on Sundays; that too just one show being screened.” The HJS activists explained to him about Hindu Dharma, its significance, meaning of the word ‘Guru’, importance of ‘Guru’ etc. They also explained about the collective sin committed by people by making mockery of the seats of worship revered by the Hindus for their commercial gains. On hearing this, Mr. Jagtap stopped the show of the said film.
