Meeting for registration of membership of ‘Gomantak Mandir Mahasangh’ at Kankon

Kankon (Goa): Mr. Jayesh Thali, the coordinator of ‘Gomantak Mandir and Dharmik Sanstha Mahasangh (GMDSM)’ stated here that it was necessary to strongly propagate Hindu Dharma for its preservation. He was speaking in a meeting held at Municipal Hall at 10.30 a.m. for registration of membership. The response received from the temple trustees was quite encouraging. Mr. Prasanna Dhage, a member of GMDSM was also present on the occasion.

Mr. Thali explained the goal of activities to be undertaken by GMDSM. There have been attacks on temples in different manner like incidents of idol-breaking, theft in temples and a ploy of the Government to demolish temples by treating them unauthorized.  GMDSM has been set up to prevent such attacks through the medium of people’s agitations. GMDSM has submitted memorandum to the District Collector in connection with the incidents of theft at Sree Nagdevata Temple at Margao and Sree Moolaveer Temple at Pedane. A rally was also taken out at Pedane with demand to arrest the culprits involved in thefts at temples. The medium of temples is not used to impart education to Hindus on matters related to Dharma whereas Christian missionaries have been spreading their religion in a very systematic manner through schools and colleges. It has, therefore, become the need of the hour to preserve Hindu Dharma. ‘Dharmashikshan’ is necessary for the same.

A video-recording of the program called ‘Aaj cha Sawaal’ telecast on IBN Lokmat channel on 21st January was shown in the meeting wherein Mr. Nikhil Wagle, the Editor of the channel had tried to suppress voice of Hindus. Mr. Prasanna Dhage made a demand with devout Hindus to boycott ‘IBN Lokmat’ news channel while narrating the anti-Hindu incident. The meeting was compeered by Mrs. Jyoti Paigankar.
